We have clips from the 80's movies A Christmas Story and Christmas Vacation. We even have the Star Wars Holiday special from 1978! We have volume one of a Very Special Christmas CD (1987) and have already ordered the Big 80's Christmas disc from VH1. What have we missed?!

How 'bout Rudolph, Frosty and the Peanuts gang? "It's not such a bad tree after all."

Not exactly 80's, but I'll bet most of you still watch those each year?!

hmmm...my 80s christmas would have to include waking up and finding a boom box under the tree, or a pair of lace gloves (with the fingers cut off) or a giant lace bow for my hair.

Can't forget to include me playing my 45 of "Do they know it's Christmas" over and over and over on my turntable.

Yeah, still love watching the Christms cartoons, even though *some* of the joy has went out of viewing them now. One of my favorites besides Charlie Brown Christmas would be the one, "Year without a Santa Clause". I think that's the one with the two brothers, Heatmiser and Snowmiser http://www.rankinbass.com/images/characterornaments.bmp

Apparently they have some neat-o christmas ornaments based on the characters of this cartoon, I may have to look for them.

As you know, Patrick, I'm a weird duck. I have to say my special holiday song is "Christmas In Heaven" from Monty Python's Meaning Of Life. Tasteless, odd and irreverent... then I opt for Mojo Nixon & Skid Roper's "Son Of Santa," followed by Matthew Sweet's "Christmas" topped off with Sting's "Gabriel's Message."

Funny you mention that, because I just watched National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation on my way up to Philadelphia for the Holidays. The DVD was given to me for Christmas and I popped it in while going up to Philadelphia. Still a great movie.

I imagine, I will be watching the Christmas story today as well.

An 80s christmas for me would have to include my grandparents who now have unfortunetly passed away :(

I remember one year they brought AN UNREAL AMOUNT OF PRESENTS!! (It was more than i had ever seen in my life)

Also having christmas music on FROM THAT TIME and earlier..... (I dont like very much of the christmas music today, its all a joke it seems and has no taste)

My favourites are Johnny Mathis (Actually he IS my all time fav christmas singer (All others just seem to suck)) And im talking older christmas stuff from him.... (80s and earlier)

Its too bad 80sairwaves dropped thier music stream, but i can understand why i guess..... (Competition, riaa hassles, etc) They have a nice website though and i hope they continue trying to keep the 80s alive!
