I went to renew my donation to the Xchange, and the ONLY time I ever used PayPal was when I FIRST donated. Twenty measley dollars. So now when I go to renew, they tell me I have to apply for "advanced" access, for which I'll be charged $1.95.

I call and ask WTF, because my card has a $10,000 limit and I can't put $20 on it??? They tell me that they can't verify that my home address matches the one used for the credit card, so they have to run that process. So I tell them that they had no problem charging the original $20 to it, and also no problem charging the $1.95 fee, so who the f*ck are they trying to kid?

"I'm sorry sir, I can't correct that from my computer. It has to run through the process. You have to wait for the code that will appear on your next credit card statement."

So.....unless I can access my account online (which will still take 4-5 business days) I lose my sig AND my status as a donating member for a month (I JUST got my latest statement), AND I lose $1.95 for bullshit in the process.

I've said this before.....F*CK PAYPAL! :grrr:

Gentlemen,

Sorry to hear you had a hard time with PayPal.
My advice is when you can, use a personal check.

Hope your situation work out for you. :)

Uh...why can't they just have you verify your address online and make any changes or corrections, then let you go ahead with the transaction? Can you just create a brand new account? Make up an email address if you have to. I guess that wouldn't work if you're using the same credit card, but it might since they don't know what's going on with your account in the first place.

Let me call them up. I have a way of getting what I want :D

I had no probs with mine and they did not charge no $1.95.

I went onto pay pal to access my atm account, as I periodically sell items on Ebay and they were updating their servers. Why in the he** don't they update during late hours.....during peak daytime hours they are updating? That's stupid.....Hang in there!!!! Once you have confirmed your address and bank account, you'll find pay pal to be very convenient!!!! :thumb:

This adds to my list of reasons exactly why I never have used paypal, and probably never will. Too much crap to it.

With my ebay auctions, people email asking about paypal..it's like, duh..if I wanted to use paypal, I would. My sister in law (who practically dubbed paypal as being her lifesaver) even stopped using it for anything at all. Sure it might be ok for some, but for me..NO THANKS!

I've used Pay Pal from the very beginning and never had a problem. They have been bought by Ebay and their policies have been changing for the worse, but I've never been charged a fee for verifying my address.

I'm one of the people who SWEAR by Paypal.. never had any issues for the 4 years I have been using them... AND I ONLY accept Paypal for my ebay auctions..
