Lenny Kravitz Plugs Porcelain

Looks like Lenny Kravitz is in some deep doodoo with an insurance company.
After a toilet in the rocker's Manhattan penthouse overflowed in August, allegedly causing "catastrophic water damage" to a condo below, Amica Mutual Insurance Company paid out a damage claim of $333,849.77 to Kravitz's soggy neighbor.
Now, according to a lawsuit filed Wednesday in New York and posted on The Smoking Gun Website, Amica wants Kravitz to reimburse it for the claim, plus accrued interest.
The suit alleges that through the rocker's "negligence and carelessness," a commode in Kravitz's $13 million condo became clogged with "various materials."
(We're not even going to speculate on what those "various materials" might be. But we will note that fellow rocker Courtney Love also has a condo in the same building.)
Plugged beyond the point of return, the porcelain fixture apparently spewed its contents, which then rained down on the home of Joel Disend, who purchased his fifth-floor unit in 2001 for $2.84 million.
A lesson for potential homeowners? Rock stars might not make the best neighbors.
Despite his plumbing woes, Kravitz was in fine form at the MTV Video Music Awards Latin America Thursday night, where he performed his song "Calling All Angels" and presented the night's big winner, Julieta Venegas, with the award for Artist of the Year.
Kravitz released his seventh album, Baptism, in May to mixed reviews. Last month, he launched his own record label, Roxie Records, named after his mother and headquartered in Miami.
The singer has been seen on the small screen of late, performing his song "Lady" in recent Gap commercials, also featuring Sarah Jessica Parker. Next month, he'll appear on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and The Ellen Degeneres Show, as well as at the American Music Awards on Nov. 14, where he's a nominee for Favorite Male Artist.
Kravitz had announced plans for a fall tour in support of Baptism, but called it off in August because his father was ill. The rocker promised fans he would make it up to them with a rescheduled tour in 2005.
