View Full Version : Member Titles
You know that little saying under your user name? What is yours about? I was wondering because in one of the games (Person Above You, I think) SouthernImage said she didn't know why I was called The Nakey Angel. Sometimes I forget that not everyone has been here so long and we don't all know what those mean. Heck, there are some newbies' whose titles I don't get.
So, in the interest of information sharing and nosey-ness, why don't y'all share what your title means?
I am The Nakey Angel because:
We used to have a chat room called Dream Chat. You could pick your own avatar, and if you were a paid member, you could use that avatar without having to load the avatar page every time. My avatar was a little girl angel, and I mentioned to the room that my angel was nakey. I had a naked angel avatar here, too, but she had a strategically placed purple silk scarf. After a time, people associated that avatar with me, and called me the nakey angel. We also could have a custom "intro" into the room. I think mine said (at one point) "She's here....and she's NAKEY!"
Also, I kept the room peaceful and clean in DC and didn't let anyone get overtly sexual or anything. :uhoh: Yep, I kept 'em all in line, in the interest of saving their horny little souls. Yep. What?!! I DID!! I was doing a good job until that silver tongued devil corrupted me! What?!! I WAS!! Shut up, Roemy! NOT A WORD about the HOP!!!
Slayergrrl 10-05-04, 04:43 PM If you didn't notice, My name is Carolann. So, to beat everyone to the chase I used a poltergeist refrence. :) After 25 years the whole Poltergeist thing got kinda old.
PaperGirl 10-05-04, 04:47 PM Well, mine is in reference to my name on my weblog. My blog is called The Tattooed Texan.
Its slowly becoming my tagline wherever I go online, LOL!
PunkyPower 10-05-04, 04:55 PM I change mine every so often. One night I was playing relationship counselor to everybody, so I changed my status on Yahoo to "the doctor is in" and then put it for my title just because. I'm thinking of what I want to put there next. ;)
Roemello 10-05-04, 04:56 PM Shut up, Roemy! NOT A WORD about the HOP!!!
:mwaha: :wildthing :mwaha: ;)
I'm probably the only one in this forum's history who's NEVER changed their title  Well... there was one small change from 'The People's Moderator' to 'The People's Administrator' a zillion years ago, but that's not really a change :p
Anyway, at the time we first got a forum system with usertitles, I was kinda in my 'Rock' phase  He was 'The People's Champion' for being the top crowd favorite, so I dubbed myself 'The People's Moderator' as I was also a crowd favorite around here :ego::lol: I also used it because I was always helping the people... even before I was admin, I was always helping everyone with everything... a man of the people... The People's Administrator :flag:
AngelicR 10-05-04, 04:58 PM Mine is pretty self explanatory. Smiles. Simplemindness is my motto, because I teach 9 to 13 year old girls and have taught younger children in the past as well, plus, currently I'm trying to teach my 8 month baby son Brayden to talk. So I usually detail things and sometimes people get a little annoyed thinking I'm babying them or acting like a tiny bopper....Oopsey...:) That's just Me in a Nutshell (Nutty, Oh Yeah! Winks*)
whistledog 10-05-04, 05:07 PM I keep mine as as it is so new users to the xchange don't think that is me in my av and tell me that I'm a hottie
Do I have to say anything... ;)
Prefab Sprouter 10-05-04, 05:16 PM The Fighting Irish DJ -
Refers to my second job (DJ not fighting  ) and the first part refers to the Notre Dame nickname which identifies with my country :thumb:
Mine changes also....but now it's in reference to "soon enough" I'll be in Miami again! :D:D:D:D
SouthernImage 10-05-04, 05:24 PM I had to change mine cause the OLD one reminded people of West End Girl. :( I 'm from the West Coast ;)
So after awhile of sitting at the puter trying to think what to put there. I finally stuck in "The Flirty One".
I'm really NOT a flirt though :uhoh: I just have to live out my title :D
I think they might buy this explanation
No reason for mine. I needed something to fill the space. I don't even like it but it was all I could think of.
Cause I can be a total bitch at times :mwaha: ;)
Mines changed a lot too. I think the current one is pretty self explanatory.
Once, that's done, I think I'm going back to Captain Caveman!!!
KimJoy69 10-05-04, 05:45 PM Mine will always be self explanatory and could change periodically, depending on the mood I'm in. I'm pretty transparent, so I don't think it's a big secret what my title's all about
I Dont think mine needs much explaining.
Rhelawen 10-05-04, 05:54 PM My current title is pretty self explanatory. The one I had prior to this (Got MOO?!) was in reference to a conversation I had on Yahoo with Annette & Jillybean a few months back. ;)
80sTrivia 10-05-04, 05:57 PM I think 80s Author deluxe is self-explanatory as well. I've used it from the beginning and don't see much reason to change it now. :)
DJ Midas 10-05-04, 06:04 PM I live in the desert. I've been DJing since 1986; taught myself how to beatmix tunes after hearing a local mixshow on the radio, and I heard one of the radio DJs refer to the show's mixer as a mixologist, and that term has stuck with me to this day. :)
Tydestra 10-05-04, 06:16 PM OMG Val, HOP! Memories!:laugh::lol:
Like Roemy, my title hasn't changed :p I used to be here mostly for the graveyard shift, still am.. although I'm posting some during the day
PunkyPower 10-05-04, 06:29 PM Mine will always be self explanatory and could change periodically, depending on the mood I'm in. I'm pretty transparent, so I don't think it's a big secret what my title's all about
Why, do you have a crush on somebody here?
KimJoy69 10-05-04, 06:34 PM Why, do you have a crush on somebody here? :lol:Who? MOI?! Nah. :D
Mine changes now and again. This one is a nameless quote from an A-ha cover - and I kind a liked the playfull choise of words. And the fact that it's just soo true - that often you don't know how great something is untill you've lost it. In this case youth :)
Mine has been the same for a long time now.
I have the highest score in the arcade for Pacman and it doesn't appear that anyone has come close to beating it. (Haven't been in the arcade for a long time though. Hope I'm still number one. ;) ) It's a good 80s thing to have as your title.
galaga-girl 10-05-04, 07:42 PM I change mine every so often, they are usually pretty obvious though - Alias fan, etc. I usually change it when I change my avatars
resinchaser 10-05-04, 07:47 PM My name is Matt, and I am a Jackass.
Mine changes with my mood!!!
But currently it is Robocop because one of my buddies now can't stop calling me that so I stuck with it,,,, well for now anyways.
Mine started as a bit of a joke, I do quizes sometimes in paltalk and I spent alot of time talking with a good friend (a firefighter) His buddy used to call him my hero...........one night that song came up on my play list and they were in the room, it was labeled my song lmao
Senator Jaiz 10-06-04, 02:42 AM My current tagline is in reference to a chat that I had with PG acouple of nights ago. My usual tag of K.P 8/26/04 refers to my "defining" moment in the L.L. :mwaha:
Mine has said "The "Original" Postaholic" for years, simply because I coined the term. I even have a license plate frame that says "Shakey - 80's Postaholic". :D
nolanbuc 10-06-04, 05:13 AM Mine changes sometimes, but it usually says "The Commish", since I am the commisioner of the fantasy sports leagues here. Not terribly exciting, but it fits in the space allowed.
"The Dawnrazor" is the title of a song by the Fields Of The Nephilim from their first album...it is mostly choosen for the sound of it and sometimes I have to get up so early :bigcry: that it feels like I became one...
My name is Matt, and I am a Jackass.
But you're a really cute jackass :yesnod: ;)
stlkev70 10-06-04, 09:15 AM [B]I have not touched mine at all if change it changes!
I love to impersonate Billy Crystal’s Saturday Night Live skit of “Fernando's Hideaway”.
Somewhere, sometime, someone (male type) called me a "Spicy Cajun Dish" and it stuck. :)
*EDIT*
I did a search and found that it was actually Michael who named me that waaaaay back in 2002. :D
blackdragon 10-06-04, 03:02 PM Mine says "Feel The Heat" because I love firefighting. Simple enough. :thumb:
80's Has Been........My wife and friends tease me about being an 80's has been. Thus the name for my title.
Glenn Gulia 10-06-04, 06:06 PM Mines from a Under Armour commercial :goofy:
Not Man 10-06-04, 07:22 PM Mine is an Anthrax tune and I am out of sight out of mind.
Dr. Rhythm.... if you don't know what that means then you don't know much about me, do you. :p lol
ObiDave 10-06-04, 09:38 PM Um, mine is because I collect any and everything Star Wars. We had a SW club in Houston back in the 90's we considered ourselves Star Wars Geeks.
Star Trek has Trekkies. We're just geeks :)
SouthernImage 10-06-04, 09:52 PM Dr. Rhythm.... if you don't know what that means then you don't know much about me, do you. :p lol
What does it mean ???
jillybean 10-06-04, 10:15 PM What a great topic! I love reading all of these!
Mine came from a title I got at another board I used to belong to. I am obsessed with lip gloss, specifically Lip Smackers and the girls started calling me that cuz any lip gloss questions they had, they came to me. lol I seriously have over 200 tubes of Lip Smackers. I only like the old school ones, not the glittery crap.
So yeah, there you have it. When I started, I used to have Sour Grapes, which is my favorite Strawberry Shortcake character. When I was on a SSC board, we got to pick our custom titles when we hit a post count so I was Sour Grapes. In fact, that is what most of my friends know me as.
RetroMan 10-06-04, 11:10 PM Mine hasn't changed since I signed on the dotted line
It's what my friends call me and I'm proud to be crowned with that title :thumb: my castle is called Retrotopia and I am very happy
Black Oyster 10-07-04, 12:52 AM I was in a goofy mood, and filled that slot, along with other parts of my profile, with A Clockwork Orange references, just because it's my favorite movie at the moment, and one of my favorite books of all time. Hey, I could have said, "Your Little Alex", only I'm six foot one. LOL
lostboy 10-07-04, 01:23 AM West Coast Xchanger
Growing up I collected commic books and one of my favorites was the West Coast Avengers. When I joined I noticed that there were not that many Xchangers from the west coast (there are many more now) so I wanted to make it clear I was proud to be from the West coast. I have only changed it once ;) but it is back to normal now ;)
djdaffy1227 10-07-04, 05:22 AM Mine is a South Park reference. Big Gay Al always says "I'm super, thanks for asking" when someone asks how he is doing. When I became a "Super moderator" of the board, I thought the line fit  It used to say "Duck Jockey extrodinaire". I believe it was Bogie who used to call me the "duck jockey". seeing as I am a DJ and I love Daffy Duck, it fit. :)
Brand1974 10-09-04, 09:33 PM Mine is self explanatory, and since I am a huge Baltimore Ravens fan, I put it there. I haven't really changed it or my signature either.
Annette 10-09-04, 09:47 PM Anyone who knows me, knows I love The Goonies!! I totally related to the movie since I first saw it, lived on the wrong side of the tracks, so basically I've lived by it my whole life...Goonies Never Say Die!!
