I took him to the plastic surgeon today and there is some good news to report.
His external stitches are out. There is a permanent injury to his sinus on one side, but otherwise he is okay. He is now starting to remember the accident--his memory is almost as good as it was before he got hurt, but he is feeling fatigued a lot due to the massive loss of blood, the trauma, the narcotic painkiller he was on, and the antibiotics. He has an occasional dizzy spell if he bends over or reaches over his head, but this is all to be expected and should subside. He will go to see his MD sometime in the next couple of weeks and to the plastic surgeon again in December.
All things considered, not too shabby!
Thank you all again for your concern ,we are feeling like fortunate people that we were going to a doctor today and not a funeral.
