I have been trying to find out the name of a sitcom that may have been on in the early 80's (could have been the 70's, just can't remember.) It was about a family and the father was an ex baseball player and worked as a sports writer (maybe.) His name might have been Jack, but I'm not sure. The only name I remember was their daughter named Heather. Thanks!

that sound an awful lot like "Mr. Belvedere"
About an English butler who worked for an American family. The dad (played by Bob Euker), a sports writer and his lovely wife (played by Ilene Graf) had a daugher named Heather and two sons named Kevin and Wesley

Oh, that kooky Mr. Belvedere! I always thought that the late Christopher Hewett (Mr. Belvedere) felt so embarassed being on that show with Bob Euker!

THANK YOU so much. This was it. After the show I decided to name my daughter Heather and I wanted to tell her about it. Been looking forever!

That would be my guess. Uecker's name on the show was "George"(Owens)
at end of every episode the butler Mr. Belvedere would enter a "lesson" for that evening's story in his diary. Any of this sound familiar? :yesnod:
Guess so!...
Just for the record if you want the information?:
