View Full Version : Broken Heart
Hipechik70 9-10-04, 05:48 PM Ok you know how I shared that we found some kittens outside our office bldg. Well, since yesterday I've bottle fed them every 2 hrs, now it's every 4. Washed them to clean them up............and now I'm attached!! :bigcry: Little by little my litter is going down. Also, some are staying w/their little brother or sister. I'm just sad now I'm down to the last two (I’m getting teary eyed now) and tomorrow their new mom is coming to get them. Don't get me wrong, they are going to great home. And I'm so happy to know they will be taking care of. Just sad now is all.... :(
SouthernImage 9-10-04, 05:49 PM :ghug: Yeah it's hard to have to give them up. :(
bookmistres4ever 9-10-04, 06:00 PM It's amazing how one can get attached to an animal so quickly, I know, I've done it myself time and again. I would think it's the same way you'd feel (although on a much smaller scale) as you would your child.
My mom's cat just had kittens and I saw them the last time I was there to visit about a month ago. I almost took one home with me, but they were still too small, and they had alot of fleas already. Plus that would mean having to get rid of my cat I have now. And even though, my current cat bites me on a daily basis (I think she's watched too many big cat documentary television where they run after gizelles - but I'm getting off topic), the point is, I don't want to give up on my current cat, even though she isn't very loving and flays my skin off of my ankles...I have become attached to her and feel a responsibility to her and to look after her well-being.
Perhaps you can go to the pound and pick up a kitty of your own, hippiechick?

Awa...but if you've had you current cat, you can't just give it up? Well I personally wouldn't. You couldn't keep both? I get attached to animals quickly. That's just me though? That’s why I have 4 cats myself. LMAO. Its just to have these little ones w/me for a 24hr span, I have gotten attached. I do w/cats/dogs whatever it is. My love for animals is so big my heart just goes out for them. This is why I never became a VET, I cry if I see one ran over in the road! That’s how sensitive I am to them and for them. Can’t help it.
LOSTNTHE80S 9-10-04, 06:39 PM Aww...I know how that goes..here's some hugz fer ya!
We've bottle fed several litters..including preemie kittens and you DO get attatched. Just do what I do...KEEP THEM!
You'll be ok after a while...tell you what, ask the woman if she will call you after a while to let you know how they're doing?
Princess 9-10-04, 06:45 PM Awwh Evie, how touching that is... I told you about when I found that bunch of kittens awhile back and like you took care of them, bottle fed them. Then I found them homes :) We couldn't keep them, allergic, but despite that I made sure they were going to be ok and they were :) Believe me it was hard to let them go with all those adorable newborn kitty sounds they make.
AWW you are a wonderful, caring person to care for them that much.

I know very hard, every chance I get I look at them sleeping. hehe..I know once they are gone, i'll get over it. I did ask their new parents to keep my in the loop as they grow and to send me updated pics. They are so cute. I wish I could keep one, but I had 9 cats running around my house 9! Oh my lord...it was fun..but I can't do it. Now I'll have 6, then down to 4 my own 4. Thank you all for the comments...hugs to you all too :ghug:
BrandyBlue 9-10-04, 07:23 PM I have been here and done that with soooooooooooo many animals sooooooooooo many times and I can tell you from experience, hon ,that it never gets any easier, but I can also tell you that it's the totally right and wonderful thing to do, and that I am proud of you. I know it isn't realistic for me to keep them all, and that I would ultimately be doing them a great disservice by overcrowding my home.
The world needs people like us, hipechik, and those little ones will never forget the chance you gave them at a wonderful life. :ghug: Bless you!
Very nice of you to give so much of your time to them. :) I know everytime i see a kitten I want it.:p
Caligula 9-10-04, 07:59 PM I love cats, they're delicious
80sTrivia 9-10-04, 10:06 PM I know it's hard to see the kittens go, but you can leave them with the knowledge that they are going to good homes and will be well taken care of and loved!!!
