How'd you sleep last night?

Bed a little lumpy?
Toss and turn any?
Maybe the a/c wasn't on?
Had to go to the bathroom?
Need a drink of water?

Look at the photo and think of them.
Count your blessings, pray for them.
Talk to your Creator, and the next time when...

~ The other car cuts you off and you must hit the brakes
~ You have to park a little farther from Walmart than you want to be
~ You're served slightly warm food at the restaurant
~ You're sitting and cursing the traffic in front of you
~ The shower runs out of hot water

Think of them...protecting your freedom, and thank them....

Not a day goes by that I do not remember these heroic men and women fighting for my spoiled, selfish butt! I mean no disrespect by this at all. It's very humbling to me how much I take for granted when I whine and want a new bed, new couches ect. This picture sums up how much they do without to fight for our freedom! They have my respect forever as well as my thoughts and prayers!

Excellent Post!!! :thumb:

Count me as one of the thankful... each day that I awake, I am forever in debt to the ones who lay their lives on the line for me... never even knowing who I am, or that I even exist, these faithful men and woman continue to be my shield.
Thank you, each and every one of you!

That is really great Pagan. I really liked that.

I do thank the people in the military, they have the courage, the dedication, and the selflessness to serve in a war that may or may not be the right thing, but their hearts are in the right place, to help others, to protect others even at the expense of their own safety and well-being.

My husband is a proud veteran of the US Navy, (He served in the Gulf right before Desert Shield/Desert Storm, his ship escorted the oil tankers through the Medeterrainian Sea.) He also sailed the world, to China, Thailand, the Phillipines, San Francisco (to rescue the people from the collapsed freeway in the earthquake). He tells me about all of his adventures, and my life experience is paled amongst everything he's gone through.

I respect and honor all veterans of every service in every time period. It is no piece of cake.

My dad was also a Navy veteran, and I was born in a Navy hospital (so I guess that makes me a Navy brat.) lol

Thanks for posting this Pagan.

Here is a similar page about the men and women of the military that I look at often (I look at the page often, not the men and women. lol)

I live about 30 minutes from Fort Hood, the largest army base in the country. I have a lot of friends over there. When the 4th cav came home, it was a HUGE celebration around here!! They were the ones that captured Saddam!!
We think about our troops everyday because they are family, friends and neighbors.

I got an email from a friend of mine yesterday. One of the two guys I know from my Navy days who got deployed less than a month from the end of thier contracts being up. He was asking me to call his new wife, who lives in Ft Lauderdale and make sure she was okay. He said he asked his dad and a few others, so that she would know that she wasnt alone.

Here's a guy in the middle east (couldnt say where) and he is worried about somebody accross the globe, and how they are doing.

Makes you realise the sacrifices they go through, not only with being in a place where you may lose your life, but also to be away from family.

Do like I do, if you see a purple heart license plate, or bronze star lp, or silver star one, or one of the retired military lp's they have these days, when you drive by, just look at the driver and give a little salute.
Let them know thier sacrifices are appreciated.

A big thank you to all the peace keepers of every nation past and present, for the sacrifices you've suffered to ensure that we don't. :knight:

Excellent photo...some of those men/women over there are just kids! I think of them each day and :tsk: myself each time I do take something for granted like some of those that you mentioned. There are others worse off than us.

:flag: I'm thankful. Heck, growing up, I used to hear stories from my grandpa. He wouldn't go into too much detail, but I was amazed at some of the things he did in the service. He was a funny old man. And I miss him. :flag:
