Black Cars still remains one of my favourite songs from the 80's. It was just one of the many songs by ...

http://www.webfitz.com/lyrics/canFlag.gif Canadian superstar Gino Vannelli. If you've never heard of him, or have, but don't know his 80's work, then by the end of this post, you will definately be a fan :thumb:

He was born in http://www.mderr.gouv.qc.ca/mder/styles/mder/images/img_piv/quebw1.gif and the 1970's, he was quite the sex symbol. He was one of the top stars here in http://www.webfitz.com/lyrics/canFlag.gif Canada and even charted a few singles in the U.S. as well

1981's Living Inside Myself became his last U.S. top 40 hit, but he would go on to chart a few minor U.S. hits after that, all of which made the http://www.webfitz.com/lyrics/canFlag.gif Canadian top 20. 1984's Black Cars and Hurts to Be in Love as well as 1987's Wild Horses kept him on top helping him to become a legend in http://www.webfitz.com/lyrics/canFlag.gif Canadian music!

I've always loved this guy... but you did not mention my fav album...
1978 Brother To Brother
I always found this man to be so sexy, especially when he had his long hair...

that was the album that had I Just Wanna Stop, his first big U.S. hit since 1974's People Gotta Move

It's a shame that he didn't have more top 40 success in the U.S :(

Yep! ;) I Just Wanna Stop is the reason I bought the album! But then I was happily surprised to find that I loved the entire thing! Edit: I agree, his music is all good, he should of had more top hits...

Indeed "Black Cars" is an awesome song, my favorite lyrics are ...

The night exposes the cracks
She wears her makeup like wax
To hide every scratch
’cause she a dark angel riding dark horses
Sitting pretty in her dim lit covers ... I say

Black cars look better in the shade
She smears her lipstick on right before she sleeps
For all those phantom lovers in her dreams

He was a one-hit wonder down here with his song "Wild Horses" which is a great song! :thumb:

It's good to see ol' Gino made it out of North America :thumb:

(except for Avril Lavigne), I love to see Canadian artists make it overseas and beyond

I liked a lot of his music, I didn't realize that he was a Canadian though.
I learned something new. :yesnod:

I have to agree, Black Cars is still one of my favorite 80's songs. I bought the album after I heard the song from a friend of mine - he had just bought a 1966 Mustang (black, of course) and played the song constantly. :)

"When I think about those nights in Montreal, I get the sweetest thoughts of you and me"

Great guy. The only thing that bothers me is that he still has the exact same hairstyle after all these years!
