I keep getting infected with adware and it's always the same one.
I've got Norton Internet Security which keeps locating it and clearing it up when i scan my hard drive, but it doesn't stop it from getting on my hard drive in the first place!
I'm using AOL (I know, i know, i know you don't like them!) broadband in the UK and i've downloaded their anti adware software, but it's getting me down now.
Any suggestions, before i just break down and cry :argh:

Might try some free download programs like Zone Alrm Pro and/or Secret Maker. They have some pretty good firewalls, alterantive pop up,banner blockeers, virus, worm protection...etc. as part of the package! Their free and when they expire you can usually go back on the sites and redownload. Zone Alarm might not even have an expiration date?
I can't remember I've had it so long I don't believe it does. It keeps ALOT of bad stuff out! Hope this helps! :thumb:

Thanks for the answer, as i say i've got Norton Internet Security which is virus protection and Firewall etc, but i've read that you can run into many problems using more than one Firewall, anti-virus, etc software.

The BEST anti-adware programs (IMO) are Spybot and Ad-Aware. You can download the free versions of these at www.download.com. I also have Internet Security by Aladdin, but I'm not sure it's on that site. I use all three of these and my system has been clean ever since.

Dr. Punky can you come over and give my puter a check up??
Ad-Aware BLOWS....I had it for the longest time and it did NOTHING. Spy Sweeper is the best one out there, hands down. Not only does it eliminate the adware on your hard drive, but it also (if you pay the registration fee) automatically updates itself with known adware and BLOCKS adware from being delivered to your PC.
I ran Spy Sweeper right after running Ad-Aware (when Ad-Aware told me my hard drive was clean) and found 112 pieces of adware on my drive that Ad-Aware failed to detect.
I agree ^ Ad-Adware is a joke. I dl'ed Spy Sweeper & have been ad free ever since :thumb: Even though you have to pay for registration, it's worth every penny.
Another good one for Trojans (thanks to Sonny) is Trojan Hunter.

Gotta go with Punky on this one :thumb: I have Spybot, Adaware and Zone Alarm, all are free and work great!
I wrote a pretty long article on spyware/adware that you can find here - http://www.80sxchange.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31245
See if it helps. :)
