when i was about 10 in 1984 breakdancing was big and michael jackson too.i remember the fashions and the music.i never got the dance moves down-too difficult for me then..it was a neat and fresh era..didn't last long.i remember m.jackson coming to town but my friend went to the concert and i couldn't(too expensive).she had a concert t-shirt and i was crushed!back then a concert ticket might as well been a million dollars...i never had the funds for that kinda stuff...

Yeah, all my friend used to want to hang out at my house because my brother and all the boys would be in the backyard w/cardboard doing the latest moves. The windmill, the scramble, poppin'n'lockin'. Oh, and then they tried to have cool nicknames too.
OMG..the dances, where everyone would get in a circle and challange each other..hilarious!!!
Our favorite movies were "Breakin'" and "Krush Groove".
OMG..I forgot about the Rock Steady Crew..that is funny!!!

This was my was my only hobby at that time. Breakin and Beat Street were my favorite movies. I can still do some moves, but only much slower
To tell you the truth I'm still a fan of break dancing. As you can see I was more interested in break dancing than Micheal Jackson. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOhh the good old days :thumb: .

I remember the break dancing circles forming at special times at the roller rink. Nobody was ever really good at it, but a few people could do the "Robot", LOL!
I remember a funk song called "New York, New York" and also a song called "Freakazoid" that would make people manic.

Kids at my school used to Body Pop and Break Dance all the time.

I consider myself the world's greatest break dancer. Everytime I dance, i end up breaking something.. a lamp, a leg, an arm..

Break-dancing was the ultimate dance. It went away to fast I though. It started in the early 80's and its peak was in 1984. 1984 was the dance year of the 80's in my opinion. Alot of artists were doing (yet different forms of) dance songs in this year and alot of these dance songs were on top of the popular chart. Some 80's artists during 1984 will have breakdancers in their videos. By 1985 breakdancing was dissapearing as well as dance songs topping the popular charts were begining to be taken over by love/romantic/pop songs that started to top the charts by mid 1985 and so on. Sort of what happen to disco by 1981 on the charts.
