Does anyone remember Status Quo? They are (of course) one of Britain's legendary rock bands with (i believe) over 50 UK hits dating back to 1968 and they just keep going strong today

Their first single 'Pictures of Matchstick Men' in 1968 was a smash in both the UK and the US. Following the second single with 1968's 'Ice in the Sun' which hit US #70, would you believe Status Quo never charted another hit in America?

Their 1976 self-titled release became their only US chart album peaking at #148

Thanks to the power of the internet, I was able to discover there was more to Status Quo than a picture of a matchstick man

Their 1990 hit The Anniversary Waltz was one hell of a great song. How can you resist medley's. They are so cool :thumb:

That 'Pictures Of Matchstick Men' was a great single. But to me, most of their output is difficult to distinguish from one song to the next though i did buy one of their singles. Can't remember which one because most of their output....hold on, did i just say that?

as parodied in Albertos Y Lost Trios Paranoias classic song "Heads Down No Nonsense Mindless Boogie"

'Down Down' is their only UK No1, 'Caroline' is possibly one of their best known songs along with 'Just Supposin' and 'Rocking all over the World' and the different ones (yes, sounded different from all the others) 'Living on an Island' and 'In the army now'. So not including their 60's hits (and misses) thats 30 years on 3 songs :p

i've not liked there recent output. Too slavish and kareoke for my liking. Now more famous for having arguments with Radio 1 after having been banned from the playlist (because they are not young urban and hip)
