Fouts over MARINO???? Are you f*cking kidding me???? PLEASE!!! Dan shattered Fouts' records!!!

Side by side comparison for the years they were in the league together. Games played, completions, attempts, pct., yards, yards per attempt, TDs and INTs:

1983 - Dan's rookie year
10, 215, 340, 63.2, 2975, 8.8, 20, 15
11, 173, 296, 58.4, 2210, 7.5, 20, 6

1984
13, 317, 507, 62.5, 3740, 7.4, 19, 17
16, 362, 564, 64.2, 5084, 9.0, 48, 17

1985
14, 254, 430, 59.1, 3638, 8.5, 27, 20
16, 336, 567, 59.3, 4137, 7.3, 30 21

1986
12, 252, 430, 58.6, 3031, 7.0, 16, 22
16, 378, 623, 60.7, 4746, 7.6, 44, 23

1987
11, 206, 364, 56.6, 2517, 6.9, 10, 15
12, 263, 444, 59.2, 3245, 7.3, 26, 13

And I think Mark Clayton should have been in there over Art Monk! Look at their stats for the years they were in the league at the same time. Games played, receptions, yards, ypc and TDs. First is Monk, then Clayton, then Duper:

1984
16, 106, 1372, 12.9, 7
15, 73, 1389, 19.0, 18

1985
15, 91, 1226, 13.5, 2
16, 70, 996, 14.2, 4

1986
16, 73, 1068, 14.6, 4
15, 60, 1150, 19.2, 10

1987
9, 38, 483, 12.7, 6
12, 46, 776, 16.9, 7

1988
16, 72, 946, 13.1, 5
16, 86, 1129, 13.1, 14

1989
16, 86, 1186, 13.8, 8
15, 64, 1011, 15.8, 9

Look at the YPC and TDs every year!

Another argument could be made for Dwight Stephenson as center, who was considered the best in the game before some cheap-shot scumbag Jet cut his career short by chopping his knee into oblivion. :grrr:

I also don't think Jack Lambert should be included in the LBs. His best work came with the Steel Curtain in the 70's.

JMHO...

TWO Giant Linebackers make the team! SWEET!

I dont know about including John Riggins on that list, he had what, two good seasons in the 80s? I would put Clayton or Duper over James Lofton, but not Art Monk. Remember, Monk was THE MAN in Washington, going to three Superbowls, and helping Joe THiesman get an MVP.

Marino and Elway should be on there. Lambert should be replaced with Matt Millen. Where the hell is Ray Guy?
Sean Landeta the guy only played 4 years in 80's Reggie Roby could kick but Ray Guy had the touch. Where the hell is Joe Gibbs?

Just like Lambert, Glenn....Ray Guy's best years were actually nid to late 70's. Can't count him in the 80's. The man they screwed in this is Ron Stark of the Colts. Led the NFL three times in punting in the 80's.

Your right about Stark,Pagan he easily should be on the list. Ray Guy played 7 years in the 70's and 7 years in the 80's. I see that Ray is on the 70's All-Decade. To me Ray was the master of the lost art of coffin corner. How many times do you see a punter put one out between the goal and the 10 anymore?
Sean Landeta is on the 90's All-Decade too i can see that but no way he should be on the 80's team

Earl Campbell?!?!?!?!? WTF!!!!!! ;)

I hate the Pittsburgh Steelers, but John Stallworth was great in the early 80's.

Unfortunately Campbell was only a force until '83. He went QUICKLY downhill after that, although I'd pick him over Riggins any day.

The GLARING omission at RB was Tony Dorsett.

You are correct about Campbell, but I was a major Oiler fan! :)

Tony Dorsett does belong on there.

I agree with alot of the snubs you guys have mentioned. Also, what about Joe Gibbs as Coach?

Jasper

Joe Gibbs won a few Super Bowls and lost one, in the 80s. He deserves to be there. But, then again, what about Dan Reeves? The Broncos were alway contenders in the AFC in the mid to late 80s.

But, if you are going to harp on Earl Campbell, what about Billy Simms?
