Before we waved our beloved Tracey off on her travels and success in the US she released a reasonable album here in the UK.
Released in 1983 on the legendary Stiff record label 'You broke my heart in 17 places' featured cover tracks and material penned by notable writers.
Track listing was:
1, Breakaway (written by Jackie De Shannon and Sharon Sheeley who i believe was the late Eddie Cochrane's wife)
2, Long Live Love
3, Shattered
4, Oh, What A Night
5, (Life Is A Rock) But The Radio Rolled me
6, Move Over Darling
7, Bobby's Girl
8, They Don't Know (written by Kirsty MacColl)
9, (I'm Always Touched By Your) Presence Dear
10,You Broke My Heart In 17 Places (written by Kirsty MacColl)
11,I Close My Eyes And Count To Ten
She also release 'My Guy' which was a cover of Madness's 'My Girl' (obviously from the lady's angle)
I had a MASSIVE crush on her! :yesnod:

That's still one of my favourite LP's of 1983. Both Breakaway and They Don't Know were popular here in Canada. If I remember, she also had another LP in 1984 that spawned a hit called Sunglasses?

Even though this is the music forum, I absolutely adored her 80's sitcome in America. I'd been waiting ever since for them to put them on DVD or video or at least show reruns on t.v. but noooooooo (that would make me happy.) lol
Anyways, I ended up contacting one of the people from her fan site, and he made copies of her shows for me, I have almost all of them, but I paid a good penny for them (but now at least, I have them! Yay!)
She is such an amazing talent.

I've always adored Tracey! My fave song of hers from the 80s is definitely "Breakaway"! What a feel-good song that is! I also love the cute and sweet "They Don't Know", with Paul McCartney playing her high school sweetheart in the video! She's an amazingly talented and funny actress (she's sooo hilarious in I Love You to Death). And, to quote Tracey from the end of her hit television show in the 80s... "Go Home!"...

I must be having a memory crisis, because i don't remember her releasing a second album, but i think you're right because i checked 'The Best Of Tracey Ullman' and there is a track called 'Sunglasses' on it, so i think you're right! :yesnod:
The Best Of Tracey Ullman (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0000032E2/qid=1093199514/sr=1-2/ref=sr_1_11_2/026-0186454-4926052)
I always loved that "They don't know" song, which I'm pretty sure was a one-hit-wonder down my way.
Never liked her TV show though.
One of the best roles that Tracey Ullman has taken on was playing a witch in "Robin Hood: Men In Tights"
Her make-up on that is unbelieveable, you can hardly recognise her

The album was called You Caught Me Out and was released in 1984. It featured only the one hit with Sunglasses and the album failed to crack the UK top 40. A final album Forever, which was a collection of her greatest hits and more surfaced in 1985
