Does anyone remember the NES boxing game Mike Tyson's Punch-Out?

It began as an early 80's 3-D arcade game simply titled Punch-Out in 1984 and Super Punch-Out in 1985. This game was very difficult to get far in as you had to defeat 6 boxers in order to finish it, and often, the opposing boxers would use moves so quickly, you wouldn't even have time to get a punch in edgewise

Years later, they released it as a much simpler NES game, but this time, the hero boxer Little Mac was ½ the size of the other boxers and had to face 10 challenging boxers (some of which returned from the Arcade version) until the final fight with Tyson himself

Once you got the hang of this game, it became very easy to get first round TKO's (and even KO's sometimes) on most of the earlier challengers (pretty much up until the 2nd match with Bald Bull)

Getting to the fight with Tyson was easy, but defeating Tyson was a challenge. His super uppercuts knocked you down with just one punch.

I remember years ago, i somehow KO'd Tyson in the first round. I was able to get one of those star super punches. I used it and boom.. he did not wake up!

Oh yeah... the NES one was a big fave back then. It was actually one of the first games I got for the NES. Took some time, but I knocked out Tyson eventually :D Never finished the arcade one in the arcade... did it on MAME though :D

I have vivid memories of this game from the summer of 1985 - don't remember which arcade version it was. But it was a big hit where we were on vacation. Never did get that good - but I watched it a lot ;)

I remember sitting in my dorm room with a big crowd of guys and everyone waiting to take their turning with that game. :)

The arcade version was cool, because it had Donkey Kong/Mario in the audience!

I fared pretty well on the first arcade edition back in the day...I could get past the current champion and a few guys after that. Never did too well at the NES version.
