While I've been on the 80sxchange for a while now, my wife and I launched our full-time online radio station on May 1, 2004. This new forum is designed for our listeners to interact with us (Aimee & Patrick) to handle requests, ideas, compliments (hopefully) and complaints.

For those who haven't tuned in before, 80s Airwaves is best described as an audio version of early MTV: Lots of variety by both known and sometimes obscure bands, intermixed with over 1,000 soundbytes from 80s movies, TV shows, comedy bits, news events and more. We realize that we are a bit different from many other 80's stations, but so far we have developed some pretty loyal listeners who tune almost everyday and stay tuned in for their entire work day. We are unique in that we make our entire on-air library of over 6,000 songs available to our website vistors for requests (which we actually play 90% of the time).

We hope being on the 80sxchange will help expose our station to some new listeners and at the same time allow our core listeners to be able to interact with all of the great people we've found here. Please check out our station for an hour or two and let us know what you think in this forum. We will be here to read and react. Thanks in advance!

Yes, I think we've resolved the rebuffering issues finally. Only occasionally do I hear a slight skip in the music when I'm inserting a request into the playlist, but it's fairly rare.

Two more things I forgot to mention to new listeners:

1. 80s Airwaves is not sanctioned by the FCC! This means songs and sound clips are as they were originally intended without any beeps.

2. At 12am and 12pm CST each weekday we have a two minute 80s newsbreak. Martin Hennessy, of 80s Music Central, provides the latest news about your favorite 80s artists. He covers new music releases, tours, who's getting sued, who's died and who is getting the band back together!

Now back to your regularly scheduled program...
