ESPN NFL 2K5 Officially $19.99
Sega is offering a John Elway quality game for a Ryan Leaf quality price! More inside!
What was rumored earlier in the week was confirmed late yesterday as Sega's ESPN NFL 2K5 will officially retail for the bargain price of $19.99. The rumor started earlier in the week when Sega announced a worldwide distribution deal with Take-Two (officially with their subsidiary Global Star Software), but was only greeted by developer Visual Concept's comments of "We will have big announcements regarding the game soon."
EBgames.com currently is listing the bargain priced title on its home page as a "just announced" price point. Sources within EBgames have confirmed that the retail price of $19.99 is official and has been confirmed by the publisher.
The football gaming landscape has shifted quite a bit since last year's releases as Microsoft benched the highly promoted and XSN compatible NFL Fever 2004 for the upcoming season as well as 989 Sports with their Gameday franchise. Now with there only seeming to be two major titles competing for you football dollar, Sega's aggressive price point should help leverage the scale against the perennial best selling Madden franchise from EA Sports.
ESPN NFL 2K5, the latest addition to the critically acclaimed football franchise, is looking absolutely amazing already and is expected to hit retailers on August 24 for both the Xbox and PlayStation 2. Lace up those cleats, it's going to be one interesting season on the virtual gridiron!
