I think that we all know and love the 1980's- that decade was great! As far as the 1990's go, those years don't seem to generate the number of fond memories that the earlier decade does (for whatever reason). Thoughts?

Lord Jay 6-24-04, 08:01 PM Well, the 80's to me was a time of absolute freedom! self expression! some damn fine music! and if memory serves me, relatively peaceful. The 90's brought us war, gangs on a whole new lvl, for many of us, our responsibilities rose....alot. And worst of all.....boy bands! It did have its moments...afterall I met and married my wife. But I enjoyed the 80's sooooo much better! I pity our young people, so I have every intention of forcing REM, The GoGo's, Depeche Mode..etc on my nieces and nephews until I had converted them. It works...ask Electric Youth...lol Lord Jay :knight: ElectricYouth 6-24-04, 10:25 PM Well, the 80's to me was a time of absolute freedom! self expression! some damn fine music! and if memory serves me, relatively peaceful. It works...ask Electric Youth...lol Believe me, my good man, I was every bit converted before you came along. :D ;) I'll admit, I do have a few good memories *preparing self for hassle of crowd* of the 90s, but all in all I'd rather have the 80s just because they were more feel good. And they didn't have... Celine Dion. Euggggh. DC Rebel 6-25-04, 12:56 AM I would have to say that the 90s was a decade of sadness for me on a personal level. After graduating from high school in 1991, I had between 15 and 20 classmates die in the 90s. Canadian80s 6-25-04, 04:45 AM the 90's brought in some realities for me .... the days of hagin out with the gang, and worry free days .... The 90's was the start of my real working career .... non stop travel (for work), 6 day work weeks (sometimes 7) ... One of the best things from the 90's was meeting my wife, getting married and having our first child .... But I agree with Lord, the musical content, the atmosphere was so much better then today's .... and EY, what's wrong with Celine Dion ??? C80's (Mike) |
