Can we have a forum for jazz?
I like jazz music as well as the music Tinajo & John Cottrell like. :)

Thank you very much for your suggestion! I really appreciate when someone takes the time to submit an idea. The next step is finding out if a decent percentage of people will use it.

Since we've got so many forums, each time a request is made for one it is reviewed carefully. If you know of anyone out there interested in Jazz music of the 80s, please direct them to this thread. Jazz music could be a great topic for any decade. While it's not one of my favorites, it is surely something I'd like to see on 80sxchange.com

Maybe we should make a poll or something asking, 'would you actively participate in an 80's Jazz forum or no?'

Same for other forum suggestions...if there are a high enough proportion of yeses, then add it. We do have quite a large amount of forums as is, so adding any more would have to warrant a decently high level of interest in it :)

I know Jazz is not exactly R&B but I'd have no problem if you wanted to use the R&B forum to discuss jazz as well. I just recently bought all of the Ken Burn's jazz CD's! Jazz was certainly a big part in what became R&B. Which brings me to the question...Can we call the forum 80's R&B and rap as Hip-hop is a 90's 2000's term?

Hip hop and rap are pretty interchangeable labels...I define it my own way as hip hop being the fun, party style and rap to be the more edgy, hard hittin kinda style. That's not an official meaning, that's just me... ;) Many have it the other way around, I just like to be unorthodox :p

Another possible name if ya want to add jazz in there...'80's Rap, R&B, and Jazz' perhaps?

I wouldn't mind a jazz forum. I don't know much about jazz, but this would be a way to learn about it from some people who know.

A Jazz forum would be neat. Roem's idea is good though - Why not make a poll to see if people would be interested?

It would probably integrate well with the Hip-Hop forum, I would think.

IMHO the 80's was a very big decade in jazz history. There was a lot of experimentation going on. Lots of good stuff came out... lots of bad stuff came out lol.

The 90's was the decade that screwed up jazz lol.
