Just got this on Saturday for the XBox....AWESOME game!
First of all the graphics are TOP notch! Finally, a racing game that gives you the option of a view as if you were actually IN the car! Usually the view is behind the car or as if you were riding on the bumper. This in the car view makes for INCREDIBLE realism! Smash into something and the windshield shatters but doesn't blow out, leaving you looking through the cracked glass as you try to race! Look at the clouds in this screen shot!

The car physics are ASTOUNDING....drive onto the grass or onto the sand and forget to take your foot off the pedal and you're DONE. Not like in other games where you can barrel your way though.
Also different from other racing games....DAMAGE! You can't just plow into something at 150 mph like in Gran Turismo. Hit things too often and too hard, and different aspects of the car suffer damage. Suspension, tires, transmission, body integrity....all effected by hitting things. Even better - and NEVER before seen in a console racing game - hit something TOO hard or roll the car and your race is OVER! Finally.....realism!
You can tweak the car to get better performance, but unfortunately there's no upgrading any of the car's systems. :dammit: A minor flaw though, in an otherwise exceptional game!
The car models are perfect, and the reflections off the paint as you drive are amazing. Weather is incredible also. There are 35 cars in all, and they're mapped PERFECTLY! Check out this '68 Mustang!

The COOLEST part of the game, however....is that it's actually a "Racing RPG"! There's a story line behind the whole thing, that progresses as you complete more and more of the game. The cut scenes are perfect, the voice acting is dead-on, and the racing is SUPERB. You race everything from classic cars to indy cars to RACING SEMIS!!! WOO HOO!!! Trucks racing in the rain!!! :laugh:
It's also set up for XBox live, and you can race online against up to 11 other players! Schweeeet!!! And get this....the game only cost $29!!!! As Eddie Murphy said in "Delirious", WHAT A BARGAIN! :lol:
