Okay, this section is for all who responded to the recent email about 80sxchange.com needing writers. Yup, we're looking for stories to post up off the homepage. There will be a link on the homepage which will bring you to a section of articles by our community members. It won't be in here (the message board). Please reply here with your ideas of how YOU think it should be. All ideas will be combined as much as possible so that it's interesting to you and everyone else...
Thank You!
Sal

Wow! The response to the email is intense.. I just got through reading all the replies.. Jeez. It seems we have a lot of people who'd love to write articles about the 80s and maybe even current 80s styles, bands, shows, etc.. This should get interesting. http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//smile.gif

Being a child in the 80's was nothing less than awesome! But being a spoiled, only child in the 80's was even better!Remember when Cabbage Patch Kids were nearly impossible to find in the stores, and stores would hold raffles for the parents of those children who just had to have one? I sure do, and by the time I had decided I'd outgrown those pricey little dolls, I had managed to whine and cry my way into getting a total of 5 of them!I still have all of them, along with their paper work.
I entered into Jr. High in 1985, with my feathered hair, Barbie blue eye shadow, long dangling earrings, and of course my oversized V neck sweaters, and tight GUESS Jeans. Everything was about clothes, hair, music, and what you were going to do on the weekend. I focused all of my time on my wardrobe- and if it wasn't brand name, I didn't wear it! I could go on for days about all of my clothes, and about all of the styles I followed. Remember silver penny loafers, neon sweatshirts, acid washed jean skirts, International News, BIO, ESPRIT, Camp Beverly Hills, Coca Cola shirts, GUESS jeans with the zippers down by the ankles, Keds, Capezios, etc, etc? I lived for my clothes!!!
I also attended the most memorable concerts at the time. George Michael's Faith tour, Janet Jackson, Cyndi Lauper, Night Ranger, Starship, REO Speedwagon, Prince, The Go Go's, Berlin, Depeche Mode, The Cure, etc, etc!
The 80's were the best years of my life, and I believe the best time to be a teenager. What other decade had so many trends and fads, and such a huge amount of bands for all to enjoy? Everything from toys to video games were special in the 80's, and I hope and pray that the 80's culture returns, (other than in my little world), and that everyone can once again enjoy the Awesome 80's!!!!

Hi JeniferLyn,
Cool.. Thanks for writing.. What you wrote there brought back some memories - things I'd forgotten too. Maybe I should just take that and start the section off with what you wrote.. Maybe for now I'll call the section "Stories and Contributions from our Members". What do ya think? I hope to get more replies here soon. http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//smile.gif
