Sally and I are at loggerheads at the moment over our firstborne's name.

At the moment it's Alexander Robert, for a boy and Emily Jane for a girl.

Names the good lady wife threw out were quite numerous:

Bane, Wolf, Cameron, Storm, Belgarion, Bear and Bemy. Trixy didn't score to highly either. Any suggestions guys?

Jared, Austin, Bailey, Zack for boys.

Those are just a few of my choices.

Seth, Caleb, Edward for boys.

Samantha, Taryn, Chanel for girls.

There are more but I can't think of them at the moment.

Good Luck!!

LOL...this thread reminds me of the George Carlin routine about how names for kids have changed over the years.

"You know what was a real name? EDDIE....you don't see too many Eddie's anymore. Where'd Eddie go? He was right here a minute ago...."

and the immortal....

"You know what? I'll bet ya 10 times out of 10 Vinny, Tony and Frank will kick the SHIT out of Kyle, Tucker & Todd.":lol::laugh:

I named my first born, "Claudia". I like old-fashioned names. In fact, she was the ONLY Claudia born in that hospital in the year 1998. I also like the name, Mia for a girl.

Boys names I like are: Vincent, Clark, Art, Jack, Oliver & Ian.

Vincent is a good name for a boy. Always loved the name Kimberly.

She who must be obeyed also likes the more traditional names so Edward (sorry, not Eddie yet) and Claudia could be in with a chance. Taryn and Bailey haven't a hope of getting past her.

Kimberley. I like that. :thumb:

Yep, the're good, but she's already turned down Storm and Bear, and the look she gave me when I mentioned them will haunt me forever!! :witch2:

For me, I am naming my first born Glen for a boy and Glenn for a girl and I am being serious. It was the name of my best friend growing up who died on his 21st birthday.

As for what someone else should name their kid....I dunno.

I had enough trouble naming my cat.

I haven't the first clue what I'd name my children. Somehow, I doubt that's going to be a problem for me anyway.

For boys, Joshua is my favorite, obviously. ;) I also like Shane.

For girls: Elliana, Caitlyn, and Jessica.

I don't like the trendy names so much because I don't think they age well. I don't think "Grandma Brittany" or "Grandpa Cory" have a good ring to them.

Whatever you do, make sure the first name fits with the last and doesn't cause endless amounts of childhood harrassment
I went to school with boys named
Tom Maeto
Tom Collins and
Michael Jackson
all of whom hated thier names and were miserable thru high school

I wouldn't go with the trends either.. somehow grandma Brittany just doesn't sound right

I personally like different names although when I was little I wanted to have two sets of twins. Brittany, Bridgette, Brandon and Bret. Do you hear my nerd alarm going off?

For some reason I have always liked the name Jasmine Rose or Jasmine Violet (Violet is my grandma's name) but who knows if I would ever use it. I don't plan on having children but you never know. I also like Zoe Soleil, Madison Paige, Sadie, etc. I have a ton but of course cannot think of anything else. For boys, not sure.

Jasmine is a great name. :D lol Thought I like it spelled Jazzmyn. ;)

I always thought Angelique for a girl. Never given much thought to boy names. lol Don't think I'll ever need to worry about either though. ;)

I'm kind of partial to:

Alexander Nicholas
Stefani Rena
and Brandon Tyler

Of course those names are already taken. :D

I like the name Maxwell for a boy and Molly for a girl.

I always said if I gave my kids another sister, that would be her name.

For those that are intersted, we chose Alexander Robert for our son, and when our darling daughter arrived she was given Victoria Jane.

It was later pointed out that we had chosen two great British leaders, even though Alexander is Anglasized 'Zhikanda' and Queen Victoria was a German.

Victoria was decided upon as I handed her to my wife having just delivered her myself. The wife gave me the choice and the name just popped into my head. It hadn't even been in the running at the time.
