Has anyone else heard this cover yet? It's on the soundtrack of 50 First Dates, and has gotten some air play on our alternative station. I thought it was really good. It sounds more acoustic, and I actually thought it was the Cure singing it, until they said it was 311.

So what does everyone else think about it? Do you like it?

I sure like 311 when they play reggae style! If you're with me, give a listen to the songs Amber, Life's Not A Race or Strong All Along...

Btw, the vocals in Lovesong sound kinda like Coldplay, don't you think?

Wow, I didn't know the whole soundtrack was covers of 80's songs. It looks interesting, I might have to find a way to listen to it.

I was just real surprised at how 311 sounded so much like the Cure even though it seemed more acoustic.

I like 311, I even liked this soundtrack but I have to say this cover of The Cure's Lovesong is a big disappointment.I just think theres no comparision when you hold it up to the original. They really didnt do anything to make their own more so than say a generic version of the song.

Just IMO..

:ill: I'd rather not. Anything that girl's vocals touch turns to irritating noise :p

"Slave To Love" is a Bryan Ferry solo song, btw ;)

I have two questions about that movie.

Who sang the original version of "Amber"? 311 keeps popping up everytime i try to find out.

What is the song that is played when she reflects light from her knife onto his face? I remember it starts with "Blinded" and that's all i remember.
