There was a song that I heard recently in a restaurant on one of those 80's satellite networks so it's pretty popular. It's a dance song that I think came out in the mid 80's and it goes something like this:

We walk/cross the line
We never blah blah blah
blah blah blah blah
blah blah blah blah blah
I can feel love drifting/slipping away-ay-ay.

The keyboards in the song have the same sound of the keyboards from Dead or Alive's, Brand New Lover but of course a different melody.

This is a little more rockish than Dead or Alive, but how about "Slippin Away" by Dave Edmunds? It's a high energy song and if you couldn't hear it (like in restaurant) it might sound like DOA. The lyrics are similar to what you mention.

It took me all day to place the song, but I believe it's "We Close Our Eyes" by Go West. The chorus is:

We close our eyes we never lose a game
Imagination never lets us take the blame
We close our eyes to see the final frame
We close our eyes to time slipping away (and he holds out the away-ay-ay at the end of that line!)

It's from their self-titled 1985 debut. They have a very good "greatest hits" that also includes their other hits "King Of Wishful Thinking" (from Pretty Woman), "Don't Look Down," "Call Me" and "Faithful."

Very good Surly!! The ironic thing is that was one of my favorites. I still have a 12" extended dance mix of it that I haven't listened to in over 5 years, I guess I better get reacquainted.
