Well, I've told you about my mask decorating and other crafty stuff I've been doing recently so here are just a few for you guys to see for the time being.

HOPE YOU LIKE! :)

The first pic features the first 2 masks I did. The one in the middle was a mistake but ended up quite well. It was supposed to be completely covered in glitter but there were gaps everywhere and thick bits where the glue was thicker. So I decided to scrub it all off and do something else with it. But the glitter didn't all come off..........Bummer! But the more I looked at it, as well as a few other people, the more I liked the effect that was left by the really stuck on glitter. Oh well! Sometimes mistakes turn out better than the original idea. Who'd have thought!? :)
The two either-side of it were painted then a sequined material glued to the top half of the mask. Easy!
The Fire/Feather mask was coated with torn bits of tissue paper and coloured foil/aluminium. The feathers aren't quite stuck on properly yet, not much keeping them on at the moment.

They're all neat, but I love the first and middle masks in the 2nd pic! I used to have a few of these in miniature, but I never made any. :) Very nice, Shei. :)

Most of the time is taken up through painting the colour of the mask, if I'm doing one with paint and not tissue paper or anything. Usually around 2-4 hours. It all depends on if I chop and change ideas on what to do with the mask I'm doing at the time. I have an image in my mind but sometimes it looks better in my mind than on the mask itself or the colour or texture aren't quite right. I am very fussy and a bit of a perfectonist when it comes to my craft. :D

Right now I'm halfway through making a miniature bedroom for a friend. It includes real wallpaper - from sample books, upholstery material for furniture and carpet/mats, other little bits and pieces from around home which includes stuff you would normally throw out!! I find so many uses for so many things I would've chucked out before. In my Xmas box I did (which I will put pics of on here soon) we even used dried capsicum/pepper seeds for chips/pringles. They looked very convincing too! YUM! :) One of my cakes was a small round piece of wood covered in dried tea leaves and fine white crystally confetti type stuff - looked like a Black Forest cake!

Enough revealing of my secrets..............Find them out yourself.
