The Return of Rick Springfield

Rick Springfield is making a comeback. The 54 year old Australian rock star who had his first hit with Zoot in 1970 will release a new album in February.

Springfield's latest record is called 'Shock/Denial/Anger/Acceptance'. It is said to be "the hardest rocking collection of songs Rick has ever recorded".

One of those songs is a cover of The Easybeats 'I'll Make You Happy', a tune that goes back to Rick's teenage years growing up in Sydney.

After Zoot's No. 4 hit with the metal cover of The Beatles 'Eleanor Rigby' in 1970, Rick embarked on a solo career and reached No.6 in Australia in 1971 with his first solo single 'Speak To The Sky'.

Ten years later, America took notice, and through-out the 80's Springfield rolled out songs like 'Jessie's Girl', 'Don't Talk To Strangers', 'I've Done Everything For You' and 'Affair of the Heart'.

Of the new album he says "The music has always been where it's at for me. This record is much like my 'Working Class Dog' album and full of three minute hard rocking songs. It sounds big and loud."
