Am I the only person in the world who has ever heard of the song "Hanging On A Heart Attack" by a group with funny hair called Device? I cannot find this song ANYWHERE! It is a little hard to find when No one has ever heard of it! Any ideas?

Thanks!

I think I have heard the song. Have you tried searching for it at Audiogalaxy.com?

AudioGalaxy has it, but says something about copyright restrictions, but it lists the CD which I can get it on, one of the Living In Oblivion CD's! Thanx. All of this time I have been searching for it, and within 10 minutes, I have an answer! No one ever said I was bright!

I have two of those Living In Oblivion CD's, but that song is on neither one. You might want to check your local record store for those CD's. I know Tower Records sell them. They will be in the compilations area usually.

It's on Volume 3 of the "Living In Oblivion" series. The female singer is Holly Knight, a professional songwriter. She wrote Animotion's "Obsession," and recorded the original version with co-writer Michael Des Barres on the 1983 "A Night In Heaven" soundtrack. (Michael Des Barres sang lead on the 1985 Power Station tour).

The male singer from Device is Paul Engemann. He went on to sing with "mach II" of Animotion" after original leads Astrid Plane and Bill Wadhams left the band. (You can hear him on their top 10 hit "Room To Move.")

Just a few fun facts to go with your request!

Does anybody know if Holly Knight ever recorded an album of her own?
She is a talented songwriter.

Holly Knight also co-wrote "Invincible" with Mike Chapman, and "Love Is A Battlefield" with S. Climie for Pat Benatar, and she also co-wrote a new song called "Girl" with Neil Giraldo for Pat Benatar's next album.
There have to be many more artists that she's written or co-written songs for.

Yes, she released one self-titled album in 1988 on Columbia. The single was "Heart Don't Fail Me Now," and it was a great song! She also recorded a version of "Love Is A Battlefield" on the album.

The All Music Guide also lists an album from 1997 called "Knightworks," but there is no track listing given.

Hanging on a Heart Attack is from the Device album 22B3. I got the CD off eBay for like $5 a few months ago for the same reason as you.
