Depeche Mode Unload Boxes

Singles collection due in March


Three new Depeche Mode box sets collecting the band's recent singles will be released by Rhino Records on March 30th. The singles, B sides and alternate rarities on Singles Box 4, Singles Box 5 and Singles Box 6 span from 1987 to the present. Included are remixes by the likes of the Automator, Plastikman, Kruder and Dorfmeister, Underworld, and Bushwhacka.

Each box contains six discs, and typical of the breadth of the material is the fifth disc of Box 4, which features five different versions of "Personal Jesus" and two of "Dangerous."

Singles Box 1, Singles Box 2 and Singles Box 3 -- collections originally released in 1998, featuring the band's early material -- will be re-released on the same day.

The members of Depeche Mode focused on individual interests in 2003, with keyboardist/songwriter Martin Gore and singer David Gahan each releasing solo albums and touring separately. Gore is looking forward to the band regrouping to record its eleventh album, and thinks the time apart could pay dividends. "Straight after [Gore's first solo effort] Counterfeit, we made [1990's] Violator," he told Rolling Stone. "I think Violator's probably up there with our best album, so if I can do something like that again I'd be very happy."

Well this looks very good!!!!!! I am very excited about this new box set release!!!!! Thanks for the heads up...I had heard they were going to release another compolation album this year. I wonder if this box set will be it or if they are going to release a "live" album from the last few years like the rumors have been. Cool either way!

Although I own most of their earlier stuff (including Limited Editions) on vinyl, I think I will get the Single Boxes too - just alone to save my vinyl copy of the "Quad: Final Mix" of "Enjoy The Silence".
