Whew!! what a day... my wife and I have been talking about getting a dog for the house sinced we moved in our new home last year. So, after months of researching different breeds and which is better for particular life styles, we both decided on a bulldog. So, on Sunday, we went to a bulldog show in NJ with the intention in mind to talk to breeders and see what was available and when. Bully's are sometimes hard to get because there are so few of them for the type of demand for the breed. So, we get there and start meeting people and got a few numbers but nothing solid, which we expected. Well, there was this one woman who showed up late to the show and brought this one pup which was bred for show but there was a minor feature that would prevent her of being in competition. So, she said that she wanted to find a good home for the pup. One of the other people we met mentioned to her that we were looking and introduced us. We took one look at the pup and it came running over to greet me... I knew that we were a match. So, now I'm a proud new owner of a 5 month old Bulldog. The breeder named her Tess, but I'm not sure if I want to keep that name or not.... You folks take a look and tell me what you think. :)


btw... you'll notice that I tried to blacken the eyes a little cause when I took the pic, her eyes looked like they were glowing. :lol:

She's adorable, you'll have tons of fun with her around the house for years to come :). and it's cool that you took the time to investigate into which breeds best fit your lifestyle, many (ie myself) don't and dogs can all be so different.

Bulldogs are such little sweeties! You will love her. As far as her name, I would have to interact with her to get to know her personality, but I kind of like the name Tess. Enjoy your beautiful new baby!

AWWWWWW!!!!!! I am so jealous! I want an English Bulldog so bad, but I can't find any breeders in my area that sell them for less than $1500 :(

Taz, she's adorable. From the list of names that you listed the two names that popped out at me were Lucy and Bubbles, but Tess is a great name too. Also, Samantha came to mind too.
