Did you used to mark up your school books, that they would hand out every year, or leave them unmarked like you were supposed to?

every picture in every school book given to me from grade 6 on , either had gene simmons makeup on their face, and either boobies or a penis as well as little comments written beside it :mwaha:


I actually got my grade 10 English teacher, who was very liberal , extremely mad when I wrote down beside a picture of a cute baby seal "Kill or Maim these bloodthirsty bastards"

I have never written inside a schoolbook. My mom is a teacher, and it's been ingrained in me not to deface schoolbooks. I can't stand dog-earing pages in books either (I'm a firm believer in bookmarks). :)

Totall flash back... I used to draw airplanes fighting on each page. On the bottom. flip page grafics. No what I mean? Flip the pages and it looks like they are moving...

I can't remember ever doodling in my school books. I was probably too frightened that the headmaster would find out and rap my knuckles with a ruler! ;) (I attended Catholic school...)

I still have most of my school books, i even have some from grade 1!! They all have writing in them, and all over the front of them too! My friends would write on them, i would write on them and i have a high school science book that even a teacher wrote on!! :laugh:

No, but I got plenty that were marked up. We had to go through the books at the beginning of the year and report any writing to the teacher. Why? Because if you didn't and they found it at the end of the year, you were blamed for it and had to pay for the book. If you didn't pay for the book, you weren't allowed to pass to the next grade until the fees were paid.

Bookmarks! Everyone has to have at least a little slip of paper or candy wrapper somewhere they can use if the don't have any bookmarks. The only things I dog-ear are my own magazines. You can download free bookmarks from the 'net. :) Then just paste them to an index card, cover them with 'book tape', and you're set. ;)

Of course I did...well, since we had to buy the books, they were my property. :lol:

Especially the English books were the main target for my "creativity"...good thing that neither the teacher nor my parents asked for more than a glance inside, otherwise they would have surely taken me to the nearest headshrinker. :mwaha:

The English book of the 10th grade wore the title "The 1986 Official Yearbook Of Violence And Sadism" (on the inside)...should tell ya enough. :D

I'm with you, Lisa. If I were to draw on anything, it would be a book cover. In 9th grade, however, the text books we were given for Civics was to be replaced the next year with something new so we could do what we wanted to. My friend and I had a great time drawing all over stuff and writing little captions for the dorks in the book. One guy went to the extreme and drilled a hole right through the book and had it secured with a nut and bolt. It was hilare.

Oh yes I used to doodle in the books. Had to pass the time in some of my classes that were so boring you would fall asleep if you didnt doodle. Mostly I doodled bands names. I did use bookcovers, but had to add my own little comments inside the books. Oh yeah I always left my autograph somewhere in the books, so future classes would see it, LOL

Hell ya! :lol: Every book had Carolann "Hearts: Kimon(HS B/F) written in as many places as possible.

I used to write my name inside of them, but that is about it.

No, we just wrote all over the homemade covers made out of paper grocery bags :) those things would be COVERED and tattered by year's end ;)

I never wrote on my high school books.. i made my own book covers and I wrote all over them.

But now I write in my college books I rip out pages to study.. well hey I paid over 100.00 for them I can do what I want with them. :lol:

Are you kidding?! I dont' even dogear a page if I don't have a bookmark. I find something to use in lieu. I have waaaaaay too much respect for the written word! :tsk:
