I definitely plan to tune in. :D

(Back after a long vacation lol)
Not sure if this has been posted elsewhere, but iis anyone watching this show over the rest of this week and next? What they do is go out and find all the members of various bands that were popular in the 80s to see if they would get back together for a 1-night-only performance..so far its worked,Berlin got back together on the first show, last night was Romeo Void(too bad the original saxophonist bailed..due to his hearing loss :( )tonight's episode is A Flock of Seagulls, and i think on future shows there will be possible reunions of Squeeze,Dramarama,Kajagoogoo(sp),Klymaxx and im not sure which others will be featured..hopefully on VH1.com they'll have a section where u can e-mail them and request which band you would like to see reunited(and ill bet their message boards are flooded with ideas )
jillybean 1-21-04, 01:23 PM I caught most of Berlin on Monday and was too busy to catch Romeo Void. I thought it was really cool they did that and I am looking forward to seeing Extreme! Good idea about posting our ideas on their message board!
BlueMolly2001 1-21-04, 02:23 PM I saw the Berlin and Romeo Void episodes and they're intersting. I'm going to ask my Mom to tape the Squeeze reunion one on January 30th. It'll be interesting to see what's going on.
I caught the Romeo Void one last night. It was okay. I would have liked to have seen Berlin. I saw them in concert in the 80's and would like to see how they have held up.
They need to have Bananarama on there. I liked them. :D
SavageLucy 1-21-04, 08:10 PM I watched the episodes for Berlin and Flock of Seagulls, but I'm not a big fan (or just havent heard of) some of those other bands. (Probably end up watching anyway, since VH1 runs everything into the ground)
Anyway, its a decent show, and now I wish Berlin would do a tour.
But I'll be really happy when there's a VanHalen or Guns n Roses reunion tour, and that's set to happy shortly after hell freezes over.
BlueMolly2001 1-22-04, 12:30 AM I saw the Flock of Seagulls ep tonight, and I didn't know that Mike and Ali Score haven't spoken to each other in about twenty years. It was good to see that their in better terms now. :) And I have a slight crush (like I did back then) to Paul Sullivan (the one with the glasses). He kind of looks like he could be related to Trevor Horn (The Buggles).
The Klymaxx on looks interesting, but I'm not really interested. As I said before I'd like to see the Squeeze episode. It'l be interesting to see what Chris Difford's been up to for the past six or so years. I know there was a tension with some of the members (notice the different personel changes and the break up, which first happened in 85 then they split up in the late 90s). Man, I wish I could have been there to see them in concert. :)
Here are some groups I'd love to see get back together:
Talk Talk
XTC (but with Andy Partridge's stage fright, I'd doubt that would happen)
Bananarama (like Shakey said, they did reunite a few years back to record a version of ABBA's "Waterloo")
Ultravox (there are rumors floating about of a reunion, but I'm not sure if it's true)
Spandau Ballet (this one I highly doubt)
Madness (I know they've reunited before, but it would be cool to get all the mmbers together)
X-Ray Spex
I watched tonights Flock of Seaguls show. I was impressed that they could still perform decently after 20 years apart. The singer needed some work but I thought overall they were good and it would have been fun to see them again. I am glad to see Richard Blade is back in the U.S. working again...He used to be a fulltime D.J. on KROQ and now hosts a Saturday night 80's show on another station in Los Angeles.
BlueMolly2001 1-24-04, 03:56 PM I watched last night's Frankie Goes to Hollywood episode and it was pretty sad. The guys agreed to meet, but they didn't perform. The guys didn't age too well, and Holly Johnson seemed very uncomrtable with the whole situation. The one that I liked and still thought was kind of cute was Mark O'Toole, who was my favorite.
Too bad I don't have cable, I'll have to have my Mom tape the Squeeze episode. That'll be really interesting.
Glenn Gulia 1-24-04, 04:08 PM Hell i thought Holly Johnson had died from aids. Too bad they did'nt play a few songs.I had never seen the promo video for Relax, wow that was cheeky!
Watching the "Berlin" episode right now. Can't wait to see them peform and compare them to the 80's. I saw them, I think, in '87 and they put on a great show.
80sTrivia 1-24-04, 11:46 PM I love these shows! I watched the episode about Klymaxx the other night and was amazed that such a marginally successful act disolved into such a bitter feud!
I love these shows! I watched the episode about Klymaxx the other night and was amazed that such a marginally successful act disolved into such a bitter feud!
I saw the Klymaxx episode last night. I thought they did a great job without Cheryl Cooley. I can't believe she went and tried to retain sole rights to the name Klymaxx. There was a lot of bitterness in this episode, but when the other four performed, it was just like I was back in the club. They sounded great! At the end of the show there was a message that they are back in the studio remixing "I Miss You" for the troops overseas. I think that's awesome!
I saw the Flock of Seagulls ep tonight... I have a slight crush (like I did back then) to Paul Sullivan (the one with the glasses). He kind of looks like he could be related to Trevor Horn (The Buggles).
I think you mean Paul Reynolds. He's the lead guitarist of A Flock Of Seagulls. Without that guy, they wouldn't have had their trademark sound. Very under-rated, imho, since they were a New Wave band and not a full-on Rock group. He'll never get due recognition outside of New Wave and nostalgic circles.
Leanne01 1-25-04, 10:03 PM I love this show, yesterday I taped Flock of Seagulls and Frankie goes to Hollywood and my tape ran out right before the FGTH reunion. My 2 favorites so far are Berlin and Flock of Seagulls. I want to see Kajagoogoo tomorrow night.
jillybean 1-26-04, 09:55 AM I have seen just about all of Berlin (last half mainly) and tried to watch Flock of Seagulls but I was never really into them (a little young but I do remember a few songs) and I couldn't really understand them very well. I watched Klymaxx last night and even tho I only knew "I Miss You" it was still very good. Holy hell was there some bitterness (with good reason). I'd want to beat that Cooley's arse!
I was pretty impressed with Terri Nunn. Most of the bands and their members haven't aged to well, but she was still an incredibly beautiful woman! Beyond that, when she thanked the audience members and VH1 for allowing them to re-unite showed just how much class she has.
severina 1-28-04, 09:13 PM Agree with you on Terri Nunn.. a woman of class indeed :thumb:
I watched the Kajagoogoo episode..and was amazed at how idolized they actually were..for a band that kicked the lead singer to the curb for being to "poppy" they sure didn't waste any time jumping on the reunion wagon..lol
I am awaiting th Alarm episode, I heard the reunion show was great..am looking forward to playing spot your freinds..as I scan the crowd :)
Darrianne 1-28-04, 11:40 PM I have only seen bits and pieces of a couple of the shows...but I think it could be interesting.
