OK

this is driving me nuts and it's gonna take a real 80's buff to help :)

I am trying to remember a song for the early eighties, im thinking 82/83. my memories are quite sketchy but the little bit of info i can recall is as follows :)

I seem to remember them being quite gothic, it was a duo and i think they were related in some way. They were shopkeepers as i remember a news article discussing whether they would give up the shop now.

They only had 1 hit single in the UK as far as i can recall , but i remember it got high in the charts, maybe to no.1 but not sure about that

I recall the song was about or included something to do with a carousel or fair ground (or thats the image/thoughts im getting in my head)

well good luck with this as it is driving me NUTS now.

Hi,
Could it have been something by the Cocteau Twins. Their biggest hit was "pearly dew drops"....... ;)

Gene Loves Jezebel perhaps? The boys were identical twins from Wales. Desire, was their biggest hit this side of the Atlantic...which doesn't conjure carousel images for me at least :) But they certainly had a couple more hits in the UK.

Hope that helps at least eliminate an option if not solve your dilemma.

Hi another goth type duo was strawberry switchblade they had a big hit with since yesterday which had a very fairground sound to it, they were two girls big hair and lot's of polka dots
