Hmm! What would ya like tuh know? The only ones I really like are the ones I make. I've made about 6 CDs.. I'm actually pretty good at it. When I bring them to work people listening to them and can't believe how many great songs they've forgotten. I wonder if I could actually get a license and make them to sell. If I did, I could use the money I make for those concert tickets I've been wanting to give away (The Raffle Idea). If anyone can help me out with information on how to accomplish this, let me know.. Actually, in order to keep this thread on another subject, I will post this question somewhere else...

But as for 80s compilations.. Whatchya wanna know? http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//tongue.gif

I will have to bring in my CD case from my car. In fact, I'll be making a new CD probably this weekend. I'm overdue for some new stuff...

In order to license music from labels for compilations, reissues, etc, you usually have to pay money up front and gurantee that you will sell roughly 10,000 units in a 3 year period. There are labels out there that specialize in this sort of thing, such as K-Tel, Oglio and Razor & Tie.

The best 80's compilations are Rhino's "Just Can't Get Enought: New Wave Hits Of The 80's Vol. 1 - 15." Very comprehensive, and almost all songs are in their single mix form (the versions you heard on the radio and on 45's.)

I also love EMI's "Living In Oblivion" vol 1-5 and Oglio's "Richard Blade's Flashback" series. Fans of 12" mixes will like the Richard Blade series.

"More Pure 80's" is a good one - it includes the long-lost "Canadian Version" of "Rock Me Amadeus" by Falco. This is the version that was played on the radio in the US.
