Iluvthe80s 5-13-01, 06:56 AM Myst, the group is called Laid Back and I believe they are a one hit wonder as far as I know. djdaffy1227 5-13-01, 07:16 AM They had another hit on the R&B charts called "Sunshine reggae" however they are a one hit wonder on the pop charts. Shakey 5-13-01, 07:54 AM Heh. I actually liked that song. My folks told me never to play it in the house. So! Of course, I cranked it as loud as it would go... I still have that song on MP3. Iluvthe80s 5-13-01, 12:55 PM I have it on this record album called "Heat". It is an album with extended mixes of different songs. djdaffy1227 5-14-01, 10:24 AM Monifah sampled "White horse" in the song "Touch it" from about 2 years ago. JS 8-28-01, 12:30 AM The Danish band Laid Back sang White Horse--an '84 one-hit wonder. (Well, at least I think it's a one-hit wonder.) wavemaster 8-28-01, 01:30 AM Laid Back was a little bit more successful in Europe, they had a #1 with "Sunshine Reggae" and another Top 20 with "Bakerman" in the 90s. I bet Kay and Smurf will happily provide you with more infos... :D Flix 8-28-01, 03:32 AM Danish band Laid Back is Tim Stahl and John Guldberg - two studio musicians who had no intentions of ever having a band of their own. They jammed together after a studio session and came up with the 1980 single "Maybe I'm Crazy" - A very unique sounding electronic song that reached #1 in Denmark. Their breakthrough came in 1983 with Sunshine Reggae - One of those songs that won't go away. This was a monster hit in continental Europe and South America. The single was released in the US, but didn't get much airplay. The B-side however - got the attention - White Horse. The song got remixed and sent out as a 12". It got rave reviews and Prince called it "the most influential dance single of the year". It did get a bonus release as a double A-side 12" with Prince's When Doves Cry. Laid Back enjoyed success in Scandinavia in 83/84 with High Society Girl and Elevator Boy. Both singles ended up as sub top-50 singles in the rest of Europe. They had a minor hit with Bakerman in the late 80's, which did better on the dancefloors than on the sales charts. They have released a few albums since. They decided to break the silence in 2000 with a tour. The first in a decade. The tour was a huge success in Denmark, Sweden and Germany. They are still touring summer festivals and open-air arrangements. morningmyst 9-08-01, 02:08 PM Thanks everyone! I appreciate your replies.
