The human rights organization Amnesty International rushed to the defense of the man who killed up to a million people, complaining that publishing the jailhouse photograph amounted to "humiliating a prisoner of war" and the Butcher of Baghdad "is entitled to humane treatment."

Nicole Choveiry, the group's Middle East spokeswoman, told CNN that Amnesty did not disagree with pictures of Saddam being released in order to prove his identity - "but not with those that showed him being medically examined."

"He must not be used as a public curiosity," she said. "Showing him in custody falls under the category of humiliating a prisoner of war."

Sadly, I was expecting to read something like this. Isn't Amnesty International supposed to be looking out for human rights? I'm sorry but I do not feel one grain of sympathy for Saddam :violin:

I guess they see nothing wrong with all the bodies the troops have been digging up either. Or, maybe we need to show them to get a reaction.

For one thing, showing a picture of him isn't cruel--pictures of prisoners are many times made public, no matter who they are. For another thing, he has made a spectacle of himself by just being who he is, so it's not like we are displaying someone who is some little Shrinking Violet. The only medical examination picture that I saw was of the doctor looking into his mouth, hardly a private area. I think that medical exams should be private too, but I think this was just a very quick look at him to make sure it was him--an identity check more than that of a medical exam.

I know that Amnesty International is there to make sure that prisoners aren't wrongfully convicted or mistreated, but this is going too far.

Human rights my @ss! If I had my way, I would've dressed him in drag, Tar and feathered his @ss, Duct tape his prick @ss to a scud, and then prop him up at the footprints of the WTC while we throw elephant Sh!t at'em. Then let some psycho sit there with him holding the button to lauch.

That's Human Rights! :4psycho:

First of all, he's not human. Second of all, who gives a rats ass about how he feels

Saddam's human? I'm sorry but i can't understand bleeding heart people like that. I agree with UKJ! To bad public executions have been outlawed.

:violin: It's more humane to post photographs of his medical examination than the 'examination' he'd get later by other inmates.

Doesn't everyone show their political prisoners on TV and in papers as a way of proving their capture? Are we the first country to do this?

I understand that they are a human rights group and want us to set a good example of humane treatment, but I don't see how showing a 5 second clip of him being examined is inhumane. Didn't they let him shower, shave, and have fresh clothing afterward? It's not like they showed that process. "Look, peoples, it really is Saddam! See the mole with three hairs on his willy?!" That would have been humiliating.

We're being humane by not just killing the assclown off... they should be happy with that. These people got the brains of a turtle...

I think Amnesty International is all :bs: on this one.

I'm so agog at the stupidity of AI's statement I can't speak further except to say that Saddam is a douchebag.
