Saturday night, I heard 8th Wonder's Cross My Heart--another '80s one-hit wonder.
As far as I know, it was the first time I'd ever heard Cross My Heart--or of 8th wonder, for that matter.
Eight Wonder had 3 or 4 UK Hits. I'm not scared was written by Pet Shop Boys. All the singles were produced by Stock, Aitken & Waterman.
Eight Wonder's lead singer is Patsy Kensit, who is better known as an actress or her marriage/relationships to several big stars.
Eighth Wonder is a one-hit wonder group...at least in the US.
At least that's what I heard Saturday night, at the end of Cross My Heart.
I would argue that I'm not scared was a bigger hit for Eight Wonder in the US. I remember the dance versions being on the dance charts for a long period of time in 1988.

I'm Not Scared peaked at #7 in the UK while Cross My Heart peaked at #13.
In the US, Cross My Heart peaked at #56 while it appears that I'm Not Scared did not chart. A different song called Baby Baby charted in the US but only peaked at #84.
Here's a short BIO from AMG:
The London-band Eighth Wonder might be all but forgotten had they not counted actress and celebrity Patsy Kensit one of their ranks. It was in 1983 that 14-year old Kensit became lead singer of brother Jamie Kensit's fledgling band, Spice. Rounding out the original lineup were guitarist Geoff Beauchamp, bassist Lawrence Lewis, drummer Jake Walters, and a friend named Nigel providing additional percussion. By late 1984, Kensit was contributing more to the band's music and they had changed their name to Eighth Wonder. By Christmas, the group was attracting attention and Kensit had landed the lead female role in a musical film based on the book Absolute Beginners. Eighth Wonder was given the opportunity to include a song to a soundtrack featuring songs by David Bowie and Ray Davies. Signing to CBS in early 1986, they worked on a debut album while Kensit filmed the movie. By the time Fearless had been completed and released in July of 1987, Eighth Wonder had issued a string of singles that had found success across Europe. Fearless sold well in the U.K. and the group (now a quartet) even notched minor chart singles ("Cross My Heart" and "Baby Baby") in the U.S. Eighth Wonder then quickly faded away, with Patsy Kensit going on to success in movies and being known for her involvement with a number of high-profile musicians.

Hard to call a group who never hit top 40 a one hit wonder  They are a no-hit wonder.
i think patsy kensit is a little embarassed by her pop past, which is a shame, because Fearless is not a bad record. i used to listen to it in my dormroom (ah... memories), and my roomate and i used to get drunk and recite the rap at the end of "baby baby" my favorite line was 'now a lamb in wolves clothing is the last thing i need... are you a man or a mouse?!'. anyway, "i'm not scared" was basically a PSB single, but with PK on lead vocals.
