View Full Version : Great news for White Lion fans!!!!
buddy the puppy 11-10-03, 08:59 PM When I saw this my mouth hit the floor!! I gotta admit all through the 80's and till this day White Lion continues to be one of my guilty pleasures in life. I only saw them once, they opened for AC/DC on the "Blow Up your Video tour" way back in 1988, but they kicked major A-S-S! I just hope Vito comes on board for this!

WHITE LION 2004 Reunion Lineup Revealed - Nov. 6, 2003
The details of WHITE LION's 2004 reunion lineup have been revealed in a European magazine. Joining singer Mike Tramp in the new formation will be guitarist Warren DeMartini (RATT), bassist James Lomenzo and drummer Jimmy DeGrasso (ex-MEGADETH, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES, Y&T). However, it should be pointed out that this lineup is not 100% confirmed as it is still hoped that guitarist Vito Bratta will join the planned reunion.
As previously reported, WHITE LION have been confirmed for the 2004 edition of the Bang Your Head festival, set to take place June 25-26 in Balingen, Germany. More dates will be announced soon.
Without Vito Bratta, it won't be White Lion... it's just the "Mike Tramp" band.
ValleyGirl 11-10-03, 11:01 PM White Lion did kick a$$! but no Vito Bratta?
Buddy...I posted this in the glam/hard rock forum.
White Lion metal?
I'm just amazed that there are White Lion fans out there
That was the sorriest band of the 80s, in my opinion.. sorry guys! And I agree it should be in the glam forum...
buddy the puppy 11-11-03, 11:46 PM Sorry so many dislike White Lion. Like I said they are a "guilty" pleasure of mine  , but I always thought Vito Bratta was a gifted guitarist and I also think Mike Tramp had a great voice and vocal style.
I always felt like White Lion straddled the line between glam rock and metal. I mean...they are not the hardest to come out of the metal era but their songwriting was definitely not lame. A lot of their songs were on some very heavy topics of the time.

C'mon Tinajo, don't u think you're being extreme? Sorriest band of the 80's?? You generalized the 80's, so you think out of all the music of the 80's White Lion struck you as the absolute worst??
Let's just say for argument's sake that they are "glam" rock or metal or whatever, you actually think that.. let's say out of Poison, Warrant, Britney Fox, Cinderella, Faster Pussycat, Enuff Z'Nuff, Firehouse, Vixen and Nelson...that White Lion is the sorriest???
That kinda leads me to think you've never even heard a White Lion song. Sorry that's just my opinion.
Cinderella is unfairly thrown in that mix. I never regarded them as a hair metal band. Unfortunately they were typecast that way because their management made them dress that way. If you listen to the music, Cinderella was a really good blues rock band.
I'd say Nelson was the sorriest.....:yikes:
buddy the puppy 11-12-03, 09:03 PM Yeah man, Nelson....that was just bad.....REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL bad. :yucky:

Hey buddy.. don't get offended.. I honestly think all the bands you mentioned blow White Lion away.. ESPECIALLY Cinderella..
Believe me.. If I ever hear "When the Chidren Cry" or "Wait" again.. I'll slit my wrists. I always though that Mike Tramp had a wussy, whiney voice.. and that's my opinion.. I'm not trashing YOU in any way... People voice their opinions about bands and singers that I like all of the time.. NEVER do I get offended.
It's all good! :thumb: I was just suprised to see a White Lion thread in positive context..
buddy the puppy 11-13-03, 02:44 PM Hey Tinajo, I didn't get offended at all, believe me I'm not that fragile. I just really thought you either weren't serious (compared to the other bands I mentioned) or you just never really heard a White Lion song. :D
Obviously you ARE serious and hey that shut's me up cuz everyone is entitled to their opinion and that's cool with me.
When I listen to White Lion those are 2 songs I usually skip cuz they were on the radio so long. The rest of their songs rock in my opinion for a softer metal band.
I know if I E-V-E-R hear Skinny Bop again I will absolutely slit my wrists, so I feel your pain. :D

Hey gang....I'm moving this over to the glam/hard rock forum....
Jefferson Starship 11-14-03, 03:50 PM Guns'n'roses and now White Lion, this is too much awesome!!! 80s are still alive!!!
Strange Love 11-20-03, 12:58 PM I don't care what they say about White Lion, is an awesome band. I love them in the 80's and i guess if they are coming back is must be for good. I'm a glam girl. But my favourite band in that style is of course, Cinderella yeaaaaaaaaah!
... tell me baby on through the night, that you never let me go...
HairMetalFantasy 11-20-03, 01:19 PM Yeah,....I'm really looking forward to seeing whatever they put together for a "band".........Mike Tramp's a cool lead singer and always made a great galm/hair/metal front man.
Um, Cinderella is probably the most underrated band of the late 80s.
Enuf Z Nuff, first album aside, were/are terrific. They just get no radio play or support from thier label.
Cinderella wasn't a hair band. Unfairly lumped into that catagory. I've said this before, they were - and still are - a great blues-based rock band.

Sal Collaziano 12-10-03, 07:42 AM Hey now! I didn't like White Lion back in the 80s, but when I hear a song now, I like it. :p :D
tonepoet 12-16-03, 05:24 AM I'd say Nelson was the sorriest.....:yikes:
Hahaha! Pagan, come on now, Nelson wasn't a band, they were a joke!! :barf: I really liked Vito Bratta's playing, he was a monster (where has that guy been?). Didn't care too much for Mike Tramp, he always sounded like he wanted to take a dump or something, too strained. Their first CD was just freakin' killer! No Vito, it's not worth listening to.
Lipstikk_n_Leather 1-03-04, 01:36 PM Sorry so many dislike White Lion. Like I said they are a "guilty" pleasure of mine  , but I always thought Vito Bratta was a gifted guitarist and I also think Mike Tramp had a great voice and vocal style.
