Glenn Gulia 11-24-03, 11:21 PM That is a excellent mix cd :thumb:
I have made alot of greatest hits cd's by a single artist.I have never made a mixed artist cd.Weird huh.
Caligula 11-25-03, 12:13 AM same as Glenn .... I basically make greatest hits cd's of artists
I used to make lots of them for my family and friends. I still have a couple of them, but I too make best of compilations. I'm not very good at it yet since I tend to overextend them to more than just one CD. My Depeche Mode best of compilation was about 6 CDs total  and my NewOrder one was 4 CDs
Slayergrrl 11-25-03, 08:38 AM Fugazi. Waiting room!! I absolutly love that song. Great mix. You gave me some ideas. :)

I don;t know how safe they are but you can try WinMx or Kazaa. I prefer WinMX when i'm not using Itunes ;)
djdaffy1227 11-25-03, 09:54 AM The last CD's I made were from CD's I already have. I don't use WinMX anymore because I can't take the chance of getting sued even though the chance is small.

Holy crap, PG! You should be working for Rhino Records, in charge of their punk re-issue / comp section. Your comp smokes any of those Rhino retrospects. NICE!!!!

Hahaha. I was telling her that yesterday :)
I haven't made a mix CD in a while. I have most of my CDs packed away, so I can't take any of them out to make a compilation. Here's the second part of a two CD set I found from a compilation I made a year or two ago.
1. "No Surprises" by Radiohead
2. "Only You" by Yazoo
3. "Pale Shelter" by Tears For Fears
4. "Quarantine" by Rialto
5. "Run" by Collective Soul
6. "Side" by Travis
7. "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out" by The Smiths
8. "Under The Milky Way" by The Church
9. "Vicious Streak" by NewOrder
10. "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" by The Beatles
11.
12. "You Must Love Me" as performed by Madonna
13. "Zamba" by Bryan Ferry
Track 11 is a one-minute silence.

Boy...I can't wait to tell my girlfriend about this mix CD...Runrig (her absolute favourite group) in a mix with Peter Alexander and Peter Cornelius...
(BTW...I'm sorry that I can't provide you with more stuff via the usual way, but the GEMA has become pretty active on illegal downloads and I simply can't afford to run any risks.)
I'm really doing megamixes with my computer, using Mixmeister 3.04. The results might not be hyperprofessional, but good enough to cause some raised eyebrows ("that was you mixing the stuff?").
My last megamix was called "80s Rewind V 1.0" (after a radio show which used to be of great international popularity :D), featuring 80s hits in new versions:
Plastic Voice - Los Ninos Del Parque
Blacklight feat. Technoir - Love Like Blood
Anne Clark - Sleeper in Metropolis 3000
Mike Koglin - The Silence (based on DM's "Enjoy The Silence")
Master Blaster - How Old R U? (based on Miko Mission's "How Old Are You?")
Master Blaster - Hypnotic Tango
Andre Visior - Don't Go
Queen and Vanguard - Flash
Kid Q - This Feeling (based on Earth & Fire's "Weekend")
Ravelab - Push!
D.O.N.S. - Jack To The Sound Of The Underground
Pure Pressure - Wouldn't It Be Good
Base Unique - Voyage, Voyage
Novaspace - Guardian Angel
Groovezone - Eisbaer
DJ Sammy - Boys Of Summer
2 DJ's and One - I Engineer
Groove Coverage - Moonlight Shadow
DJK - I Like Chopin
Baracuda - Damn (based on Matthias Reim's "Verdammt, ich lieb' Dich", a German #1 hit)
Jan Wayne - More Than A Feeling
Scooter - Weekend
Back in my active DJing days, I have also merged MJ's "They Don't Care About Us" with Sepultura's "Ratamahatta"...
Holy crap! All Synthnerds bow to wavemaster  "Sleeper In Metropolis" and "Voyage, Voyage"! Sheesh. I thought I'd never see another poster list those! Hell! I don't know half of those myself
Btw, is the Technoir song the pre-Ace Of Base group or the new, Goth-like Technoir? The new Technoir made a decent cover of Ultravox's "The Voice." Cute lead singer too :)
Metalfan83 11-30-03, 07:05 AM I've made a couple of Japanese Pop cds for a friend of mine, and I had a KISS CD with songs starting from when they first formed, to when they took off the makeup, to when they reuinted again. Although I was going to make a cd with songs like "We Built This City" and "Dancin' in the Dark". For some reason, alot of songs like those remind me of the city, because I was in Chicago when I first heard them.
