Hi Everyone!
I'm having an 80's party this Saturday night for my 30th, and there around 60 people coming....do any of you have any great ideas to make my party a truly memorable experience.
Everyone has to come dressed in 80's gear, if someone turns up not dressed I will be getting out the hairspray and blue eye shadow lol.
I'm also thinking of doing 80's trivia, if you get the question wrong you have to have a B52 test tube shot!
Anyway if you have any suggestions that would be great.
Thanks!

80's trivia sounds great!
**I know that you are needing some fast suggestions..so here goes. Good luck with the party.
* Go to a local thrift store and grab some old albums if you are able to get them at a decent price..use the album flats as decorations (Only 80's artists of course)
*Are you having a DJ? If so...sort of combine the 80's trivia with song trivia..have them play just a couple of seconds of a song...guess the song/artist/year/ even the album... (I used to do this with Mtv in the 80's and could name it usually within 2 or3 seconds...
*If you;re having a food table...have a little card in front of each dish with an 80's theme ..for instance..April Wine & Cheese Ball...Def leppard Dip...Valley Girl Veggie Tray...etc..
*Set up a "back drop" (simple..just find a large box, cut it open, stand it up, cover it with Cloth, decorate...) and have your friends pose in front of it for a good picture..that along with candid party shots will be great for your memory book of the event.
Now you have my wheels a turnin...I'm sure that I can come up with some more ideas if you want :) Good luck!
All great suggestions from Jana. As part of the decorations, I would add pictures of toys and movie poster pics to go along with the album flats. You should be able to get those easily on the net and print them out.
Have a great party!
All great ideas!! If there will be drinking there, you have to be sure to include wine coolers LOL Bartles and James and Seagram's... Those are 80s drinks For sure!
Bu sure to have a few 80s movies lined up to have going in the bckground.. and I love Jana's idea with the 80s song sampling game and If you have lots of people coming, you could split your guests into "cliques" preps against the metalheads.. etc.
I know this is short notice... but if you don't already have a good 80s trivia book, one of our members here (80strivia is his member name) ;) has a few books out.. you can get the books at Amazon.com but I found a few at Barnes and Noble if you need them in a hurry (since your party is Saturday night).
He's a fantastic author, and if you go to the bookstore his name is Michael Dante-Craig and my favorite book of his is The Totally Awesome 80s Pop Music Trivia Book
But he has lots of them!! I also have his 80s TV trivia book.. His website lists his other titles in case you want to order or call your book store to see if they have it.. http://www.retrolane.com/dish.html
Good luck! Wish I could go! ;)
