This song has just been re-done by an Australian group called Ilanda feat. Joanne. I quite like it. If you don't remember it was originally done by Ollie & Jerry. Oh, speaking of re-done songs has anyone heard Biftek and Julee Cruise's version of Cliff Richards "Wired For Sound"? It's horrible, doesn't do the original justice!

Yep! don't know if it will be released in US though. They are an Australian group! It is good though, very similar to the original.

Oh Sheree! I have heard that 'wired' remake and is so incredibly bad. I have also seen the film clip and there's no rollerskates to be seen anywhere! it's just not the same http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/frown.gif

I know! Isn't it revolting? <IMG SRC="http://www.geocities.com/mum-n-shei/yukkysmiley.gif" border=0> I used to love that song as a kid but now they've ruined it. Couldn't they have come up with something original?

Oh don't you just hate it when someone make a really bad remake of a song and just spoils it!! Lolly did it last year with Toni Basil's 'Mickey' - when will they ever learn that you just can't match or improve on the magic of the 80's - I'm sure there will be many more disapointing remakes to come http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/frown.gif

oh don't worry Sheibub, I have seen it a few times during that special time in January of each year, so I'm sure they will play it again! - it's a classic!! it was filmed on the end of her tour and she just goes nuts in that cheerleader uniform - total ad lib!

Sounds cool! One of my fav moments form Countdown was when Iggy Pop did 'I'm Bored' live. I don't think anyone knew what to expect of him and probably wished they weren't there in the audience when he was performing! http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/biggrin.gif I also liked the ones with Elton John and Culture Club, they were quite funny.

OH YEAH! do I ever rememeber Iggy!! that is a very classic piece of Countdown footage! he's completely whacked out on something when Molly's trying to interview him! (blowing rasberries and the camera and standing on his chair) Molly actually got embarrassed!!!
Another funny moment is when Molly interviewed Prince Charles! did you ever see that?
