I just thought I would post THIS ARTICLE (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A31029-2003Oct1.html) , because it deals with something that not only affected me as a resident of this area, but also affected my family members that are Montgomery County police officers/detectives. My father retired this past Tuesday from the police force where he worked for 35 years. He told me that out of all the years of being an officer, the Sniper situation was the only thing that made him feel helpless and fear for his life. It was a huge impact on everyone around here and it seemed like almost the entire month of October 2002 we locked ourselves & our families in our homes and the thought of doing simple things like getting gas and going to the grocery store were almost unheard of. I remember having a very hard time explaining to my children why they couldn't go anywhere. Luckily neither of them were in school, so I could keep them here with me 24/7.

Anyway, they were caught and both of them will most likely be sentenced to death. But if it were up to me I would have them tortured and thrown off a cliff...

Thanks for tuning in. :)

I remember it all to well. I'm tired of seeing those two fools on the news everynight. Back in the 80's Aspen Hill shopping center was one of my hangouts.Who knows PG your dad may have issued me a few tickets  I was a bad boy back then. Congrats to your pops PG.

What ever they end up doing with those guys, I just hope it's the last of this sort of crime.

Congratulations to your Dad PoisonGirl :) 35 years is a long time serving in a job that isn't easy and sometimes life threatening
I bet you're very proud of him

That's bizarre PoisonGirl, my Father also served 35 years in the Police Force here!!

He was a Police Constable and very much enjoyed the work, but didn't enjoy the last few years of his work as he found it difficult to contain his frustraion at the Judicial system in this country.

All the very best for your Fathers retirement anyway!
