Anyone remember the old Burger King mascot, he was really a King and I think his nemisis was the Duke of Doubt ? Remember when Burger Kings motto was Have it your way ?

Yup! I remember that! Since we are on the subject of mascots.. do you remember Domino's Pizza had the NOID? Avoid the Noid was their slogan.. he was a red obnoxious creature.. LOL That was when your pizza was delivered in 30 minutes or less or it was free... those days are gone :(

I don't remember the Burger King mascott.. but I do remember Dominos! Back then I wasn't into Burger King I loved MCDONALDS.

anyone remember when toilet paper came in different colors and when they stopped this ?

I didn't know Burger King had a mascot, either. (In 1985, a Burger King--which is still open today, by the way--opened near the junior high school I had attended...from September '83 to June '86, that is.)

I had plenty of Domino's Pizza in the '80s! (Too bad the nearest Domino's Pizza location to my house is no longer in business.)

Well, I do remember the motto that Burger King had in the '80s: "Have it your way."

I don't remember the Burger King mascot, but yes I do remember that annoying Noid dude.

I don't remember the Burger King mascot. Got to love the leisure suits those guys have on in the pic. :lol:

I remember the Noid. Hated that thing. If I am not mistaken, they did away with the 30 minutes or less delivery because one of the drivers got killed in an auto accident. :(

I have a stuffed "Burger King" :) I also have a picture of me with Burger King circa 1979. He made a live appearance and did magic tricks at a Burger King near my grandma's apartment :) The Duke of Doubt was a scary guy, if you will. I remember him too. Their was a couple of other characters that I don't remember the names of, they didn't catch on like the McDonald's characters.

Wow, those McDonald's toys sure bring back some memories of a thousand "Happy Meals" I feasted on as a child! :)

I remember the Burger King, but I don't remember the Duke of Doubt. When I was in grade school, we had to learn how to play that Burger King song on our violins. Then, one Saturday morning, we went to the local Burger King and played it out front. Everyone thought that was so cute. They gave us free burgers and cokes for that. Believe it or not, I went to work at that Burger King when I was 17 years old. :eek:

As for the McDonalds characters....
I remember: Ronald McDonald (obviously), Mayor McCheese, Hamburgler, Grimace, and Birdy. I don't remember Constable Big Mac, although I guess he would have been after Hamburgler all the time.

I vaguely remember Burger King, the mascot, but looking at the picture I can't help but think he looks like King Vitamin of cereal box fame.

McDonald's characters? The Hamburglar was my favorite. I dressed up as him for Halloween in 1987 and 1988. I also liked the little pom pom looking things that stole french fries. Remember when the McDonald's playlands featured rides that looked like those characters?

I remember The BK Mascot! Whenever i went into BK when I was a kid they'd give you one of those silly cardboard crowns. I loved them! I also remember the Noid. We never had any Domino's in my area, still don't.

Remember that snotty little girl they used after? The one who'd spend 30 seconds telling you how she didn't go to McDonalds because Burger King was so much better. then she'd finish off by saying "Unbelievable!".

I knew all the McDonalds characters 'tho. I had a Hamburgler pillow guy. When I was rather young, my friend and I used to stand up in the baby swings at our playground and swing as high as we could because the french fry guys were coming to get us.:lol: :rolleyes:
