I just heard on VH-1 that Mary J. Blige is supposedly working together with uber-producer (and reformed crack head) Rick James to bring together a Millenium version of the Mary Jane Girls back to the music scene. Sounds pretty interesting!

What I want to know is if the Mary Jane Girls had enough songs for another album after 1985's "Only Four You".
I know their 1994 greatest hits has some '86 copyrights mentioned, but I didn't buy it to prevent buying some of the same music twice.
I hope we can get all post 1985 music on 1 disc someday. ;)

I hope they succeed, Mary J. Blige is an amazing talent!! :) I'm sure they'll get it done and it'll be amazing, if Mary's involved that is.

So are we talking new girls here? I loved the original MJG's, they are what first got me interested in funk (go figure). I'm not sure a MJG 2002 would work. But if the music's as good as the original, it'll be way better that most of today's sound (IMHO).

I believe they are going to have two new girls to accompany Mary J. Blige in the group, Nolan. I'm sure it will be a very different sound of music than the original MJG's. But I enjoy Mary J. as well and she's very talented, so it should be good!

Mary J Blige is soooo good. I love her new song (not "Family affair" I mean her REALLY new one) and it has an awesome video!!

I'm not sure why it's gonna be MJG 2001, why not start a group under a different name?

I like Mary J.'s new song, "No More Drama", too, DJ. It's a great song with a strong message. I also like the fact that she sampled the theme music to The Young and The Restless , one of my fave shows!!!
