Hey, Eagles fan here
I think that after 2 years in a row at the NFC championship game its's gotta be this year for the birds. I actually think Hugh Douglas leaving is a good thing, he was really slowing down at the end of the season last year. The young guys in the DL will step up I say.
Watch out for Freddie Mitchell this year, he looks like he's ready to be a great WR.
The only problem is the schedule (absolutely brutal)

Until they figure out how to get past the Buc's defense, they won't be going to any superbowls. ;)

Yeah, but until that bad result in the championship game, the Eagles had regularly beaten the Bucs in the playoffs.
The defense was essentially the same, so I think that last years game was a once off.

Well, I believe that they will make it to the playoffs, but once you start the playoffs everyone is 0-0. If Mcdougle can be effective in his rookie year that could really help the loss of Hugh Douglas. I think their window of oppurtunity is closing though, so I would expect it's this year or not for a while.

McDougle looks good but he's out for a few weeks from an injury.
I don't think it will be up to the defense to get us there, it's always been good, and I think Jim Johnson will do well with the guys he's got. I think it's up to the offense to step it up a notch. McNabb has to have an MVP season and throw over 60%, and the WR's have to live up to their potential, this means Todd Pinkston and Freddie Mitchell.
BTW the new stadium looks good and the grass is better than the horrible old Vet surface. Should prevent some unnecessary injuries.

They'll be playing my Dolphins on a Monday nighter in December. Could be a superbowl preview. :D

that will be one of the games of the season.
Also looking forward to the first monday nighter versus the Bucs.

btw Pagan I like the fins in the AFC this year, but ur in one of the toughest divisions.

Sorry, but 49 states will be left out of the Super Bowl this year. The Lombardi Trophy will end up somewhere in Pennsylvania, regardless of which conference wins it. :D

We know you're not talking about the Squealers. ;)

Man did the birds SUCK on monday night!
Offense = terrible, worst display in years!
Defense = worn out!, no offense means no rest for the weary.

Hope they bounce back vs. equally disappointing Pats!

Yeah, a MADDEN 2003 Super Bowl Preview, but not an NFL Super Bowl Preview.

I dunno Jasper, both teams will bounce back. In fact I'm glad that Philly lost to Tampa... that way if they end up with the same record, they have the tiebreaker and philly will march into Raymond James Stadium in the NFC title game and get some payback on those cocky Bucs.

Gods...how silly will you feel if it happens? What, you think the Gnats are superbowl bound? From what I saw Monday night, they have a fart's chance in a windstorm of beating the Bucs.

Gaz...Philly didn't stink. In fact, their D played a good game. The Bucs' defense is just the fastest I've ever seen.

yeah the D was good but they were worn out from being on the field too long. The offense did suck man. Why give Buckhalter ONE lousy run? He deserved more time than Staley. McNabb was horrible, although the pressure was immense fom the Bucs D. His throws were inaccurate - a 5 yrd pass to Thrash's feet, COME ON he can do better than that.

OK, this thread now means, "can the eagles do it (get to the playoffs, not the superbowl)"

2 weeks in and they look like a train wreck. McNabb is in a funk or something. The starting RB Buckhalter gets 1 carry in 2 games, what is going on? Maybe McNabb needs a reality check - bring on Detmer or Feeley. Well they have the bye this week to think about the disaster this season is turning out to be. Then somehow try to beat a hot Buffalo team... good luck

Sure they could make it as a wildcard. I don't think they will win there division. Giants should beat Dallas tonight. Giants play Redskins next week, one of these teams will be 3-0,Eagles 0-2 thats a big hole to have to climb out of.
