Chad Pennington.....out indefinitely. There are already reports that he'll be gone for the season.

One more reason why the preseason if TOO F*CKING LONG!

The Jets released a statement that Pennington will be out 12 weeks...ouch...well at least they have Vinny....is that a good thing?..it certainly hurts the jets recievers values.

The preseason isnt too long. Pennington isnt out because of a 3rd preseason game, he is out because, like a dumbass, he tried to stop his fall with his hands. Stupid shithead!

yeah? Tell that to the guy who makes the team because he consistantly out performed another guy for four games. Even if it only means he is a bench warmer. Dont those guys deserve every chance to make a team? sometimes it just takes one GREAT game to earn a roster spot. Simple rule, dont want a superstar getting hurt, dont play them. Thats what the Rams do, they let Warner play one series, in game one, Faulk sits out, they both do nothing in game two, play a little more in game 3, and will play about a half in game four.

In the papers today they're saying that the majority of NFL coaches will lobby for a two game preseason for next year.

I agree with Jasper. Pre-season is important for the newer players who not only try to earn a roster spot on their teams but possibly on another. The jets will suffer but they are the ones who chose to keep Pennington in the game. Teams totally scout the pre-season for a player that might fit their needs. It is a win- win for both. Unfortunatly their is always the possibility for injury in a contact sport.

Some talking heads were discussing the length of preseason issue the other day on ESPN. One suggestion was to start the season 2 weeks sooner, thereby decreasing preseason. For me, 18 weeks of NFL is a dream come true, but I could understand why the coaches would never go for that.
