LOSTNTHE80S 12-19-01, 09:49 AM Hi..not too many concerts here either I am afraid. You always had to drive a couple of hours and wasn't that easy finding someone who didn't have a full car already.
SAMMY HAGAR.....RED TOUR 1983 (?) This one was taped for MTV!!
NIGHT RANGER.....1983 Great!
JOURNEY...(FRONTIERS ?) 1983 Very excellent.
BRYAN ADAMS......1983 I could have listened to him all night!
I don't have a very big list....my brother atteneded more concerts in one week that I could have. He's seen KISS several times, AEROSMITH about 10 times, OZZFEST a few times, ALICE COOPER, etc....he was more into the rock.
Nice topic by the way.

Donny & Marie - 1976
Journey - 1986 (the Outfield opened)
Squeeze - 1988
B52's - 1990
Pretty sad list 'huh?
Damn ya'll! I'll just go find a hole in the ground and stick my head in it! We have some serious concert junkies here! :D
naah. Some of us have just been around too long Gman. LOL. :D
Here's my routine:
1. Hear or read about concert.
2. Plan to buy tickets.
3. Forget to buy tickets.
4. Concert comes and goes.
5. Repeat.
I know, slacker! :D
Caligula 12-19-01, 04:21 PM Actually My concert going days are pretty much over also, I don't think i've been to a real concert since 92, i will go to a local bar to see old groups though once in a while.
LOSTNTHE80S 12-19-01, 08:13 PM I noticed that some posts about concerts were current so I would like to add another to my list:
LONESTAR in 2000.....they really put on a class act show. If you enjoy country music, try to see these guys. They are good.
djdaffy1227 12-19-01, 11:19 PM I atually met the guys from Lonestar at the radio station I worked at. I saw them perform "Amazed" live in the studio does that count?
Here is what I can remember, and I promise they're not in order. Some may actually have opened for others. LOL

LOSTNTHE80S 12-20-01, 10:16 AM DJDAFFY....
You met Lonestar? That's great! I have met several celebs myself. I think you'd be able to slip that one in (them singing in the studio..it was a live performance.. :D right?????
I just wanted to tell everyone hello. I haven't been on here this long and am just getting the hang of it. I just love this site and am continuously logging on. I think I've died and gone to heaven! This is the best 80's site that I have stumbled onto. Everything is current and ya'll are great! <CHEERS!!>
djdaffy1227 12-20-01, 06:00 PM LOSTNTHE80's,
Glad you enjoy your stay here. Keep up the posting and you too may become a member of the round table. I have to admit meeting George Strait in Pittsburgh was the highlight of my radio career (that is still going) but that topic has already been covered :)
angeleyes25 12-25-01, 09:36 AM I haven't been to that many concerts. One in the 80's wich was to New Kids On The Block and one in the 90's wich was Salt N Peppa. My parents were over protective.I had to sneak and go see NKOTB.

There's a few others that I'm sure I've forgotten but hey I'm getting old. :D
Violet and Sav, y'alls concert lists read almost identical to mine. I was supposed to see Dio/Dokken in 1984, even had tickets, but I was in a car wreck. I was in a freakin wheelchair at the time! I have a question for both of you, I saw Monsters of Rock in 1988, but Dokken and Kngdom Come weren't at the one I saw. Where did y'all see this concert?
VioletFoxx 12-26-01, 12:14 PM Red-- I saw Monsters of Rock in Dallas. If memory serves, Sav saw the Houston show. I think that's right because I'm remembering a discussion we had about how Dokken didn't play well in Houston but rocked in Dallas. Where did you see the show?
LOSTNTHE80S 12-26-01, 12:41 PM I might as well start over on my post. :D I will confess, I saw the Osmonds in 1976 (?) not exactly sure of date. I thought of two more artists that I meant to put on my list of who I would love to see...ELTON JOHN & ROD STEWART. There are probably more but we can't go on forever.
Lemme think, I saw the last two Texxas Jams in 1986 and 1987 in Dallas. Then I saw the Monsters of Rock in 1988 in Houston. Maybe my memory is so bad that I don't remember seeing them, or I'm getting the years wrong. I remember Van Halen being the headliner in 86 and 88, Boston was the headliner in 87. I no longer have my ticket stubs or concert shirts. Damn, I only remember bits and pieces of these shows...

I think we talked this one out in chat. Something about pre show parking lot activities?
Oh nooo... I have too many to name!! I'm sure I will miss a bunch as well.. I might as well just duplicate Foxx's list and add KISS and Slayer it to it a few more times, and I think we'll have it! LOL
The pre-concert activities were very important. If I remember correctly, the venue had changed their rules recently. They no longer allowed coolers or bottles inside. This guy in front of us had a coolerful of beer. When they told him he couldn't bring in the cooler, he decided that he didn't want to lose his place in line. So, he started handing out the beer to everybody so it didn't go to waste (he didn't care about the cooler). The gates had just opened so we had to slam 'em down because they wouldn't let you in with a bottle. I think I drank about 4 beers in 10 minutes. That was the setup for the day. And what a day!! I was near the stage nearly all day!!!
I went to a Poison/Warrant concert back in 1991. The show was pretty good.
WHOA! Kix and Great White in concert together! Those are my two favorites, VioletFoxx. I've always wanted to see Kix and Great White in concert but have never been able to. Did they put on a good show?

Great Big Sea - saw them opening for Runrig here on their last tour, and they were truly great.
During their performance, the PA failed with a loud bang. Was no problem for them - they just picked on the song, continuing it acoustically. The audience fell in silence, so even me (balcony, at the bar ;)) was able to understand everything.
But, before you might want to ask me more...my g/f is the true Celtic music freak. I only happen to know her...and I like the music, but I´m not that involved like her. :D
