Did anyone hear that they are making a remake of the 1983 Mini Series V? If I rember correctly Robert England was in it.

I have also heard they are supposedly doing a remake of V. Seems a bit frivolous to me, but I imagine the special effects will be more spectacular. And you are correct; Robert Englund did appear in the original mini-series! :)

I never knew Robert Englund was in V! I guess you really do learn something new everyday!

Awesome news!

Yeah, it's kinda weird seeing "Freddy" in such a vulnerable role... Before he was the nightmare invader, he was a space invader...

Robert Englund played the nice alien!

I totally agree with 80sTrivia on this one. It does seem frivilous. Seems rather pointless to do a remake of a series which was pretty darn good as it was.

I for one have had enough of TV series and movies where aliens are trying to take over the planet. There is also a TV series running now that deals with that sort of thing.. the one with the Talons or what ever they're called.....what's it called now? It's crap anyway.

yeah you got it right, it's the Talons (TAY-lons) and the shows called "Earth: the final conflict". I didnt know it was still on! But yeah, it's the same thing basically, seemingly friendly aliens slowly try to take over the planet.
And am I wrong? didnt V, eventually become a full fledged series? Or was the whole half alien/half human child thing in the mini-series as well?

I actually enjoyed Gene Roddenberry's Earth: Final Conflict. I do not think it is in current syndication as I haven't seen it in a while. I'm not at all impressed by Star Trek: Enterprise with Scott Bakula. I think we need another good sci-fi series! :thumb:

Cru, you are right, it did become a TV series.

Earth:Final Conflict has been on our TV for a while now. I think it may be reruns. I never really gave it a chance to tell you the truth. It just seemed too much like V when I first took a look at it. You are right though Triv, we do need some new Sci Fi's on TV.
