O.k guy's - who was a fan of the wonderfully cheesy dance/pop group in the 80's "Five Star"?
I can happily admit that i well and truely was and even had their albums! hahaha
I heard one of their old 80's dance/pop tunes played on a radio station last night - "System Addict" (who remembers that one?)
and it brought back such great memories! haha

I dig 5 Star. I haven't heard that much by them, but I really would love to Can't Wait Another Minute again. I also like Love Take Over and Let Me Be The One. Great dance stuff!
Yer! "Love Take Over" was quite a groovy number by Five Star from 1985 and was'nt as commercial/pop as alot of their songs that came after that! :)

I remember talking about them a long time ago on here. I was waiting for them to release a greatest hits collection, I still am too  I love the song "Let me be the one" (different then the Expose song). In the States they didn't have too much pop success only peaking at #41 with "Can't wait another minute". They did have some success on the R&B charts with 9 entries between 1985-1989 with all 9 of them going at least top 40, 3 of them top 10.

Ah, now you're definitely bringing back some old memories Tony! They had some good hits and were huge in Britain, indeed they were called "Britain's answer to the Jackson 5". My favourite song wold be either "System Addict" or "Rain or Shine".

I think I saw the video for "Let Me Be The One" on VH1C the other day...I have the original 12" of "All Fall Down" but now know there is another remix out there that I need to get...
DJ Midas.
The original vinyl 12" of "Let Me Be The One" has a M&M Dub Mix of "All Fall Down" on the b-side that sounds very different from the original.
Other Five Star favs of mine include:
The Slightest Touch (Shep Pettibone Remix)
Another Weekend (Friday Night Dub Mix)
Actually Five Star are still around and they recently released a single entitled "Funktafied" (not the Da Bratt song) on their own label.

www.5starluxury.co.uk loads of fans there plus all the songs listed of the good years and a few songs not widely known esp in the 90s when all went flat. denise has been in 'thriller' the mj musical plus released a song (one of her own) didnt do too good but still a great song!
She was indeed in "Thriller - The Musical" during the first quarter of 2009 (Jan-Apr).
The band hailed from Romford, a little known town in Essex (where I've frequented many a time).
And they'll be gigging again later in 2009 - we wait with bated breath.
