Beats Per Minute! For crying out loud!! This is the energetic sound with, well, ALL THOSE SOUNDS! They're flying by at like a mile a minute! Any fans of this kind of music? It's usually very upbeat and can put you in a good mood rather quickly! So watch out!

Sal, does Duran Duran fit into this category? Out of all the British new wave/pop bands, they had the biggest impact, especially on MTV. They were the first band I was into before I got into hard rock/heavy metal, besides the Beatles.......I'm not ashamed to say it...they were (are) a very underated band....just look at the amount of top 10 hits they had in the 80's. As huge of a fan as I was (and still am), I never saw them live, but I hope to fix that this summer, even if only two of the original members are still in the band! It's the hits that they'll play that counts!

Waxing nosatalgic again,

No! It doesn't! http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smile.gif But thanks for bringing this up. I should have a seperate section for this type of music. Would it be called 80s New Wave? I'll need some help here. What's this music called? Would it fit into Punk Rock at all? Punk Rock/New Wave... I dunno! I'll need help...

Well, techically, when Duran Duran hit the scene, they were considered part of the "New Romantics" movement.....Depeche Mode, Adam Ant, and others of that sort were also considered part of it as well (mostly British bands), I believe....sort of the glam of pop music if you will....Video superstars? Yes, definately.....Hope this helps!

Ok, I think the best name for a category if you're going to make it would be, New Wave/New Romantic. There's my say...

Ok, I guess since this is about the 80's, I would have to say New Romantic. Or maybe have an 80's top 40 forum. For the likes of DD, Eurythimics, Tears for Fears, New Order, ect.... I don't think that Duran is anywhere near that image anymore! (new album, Pop trash due out next month KICKS ASS!) Check out any MP3s you find of the new Duran stuff. Also, DD summer tour dates have been announced. I will post on what ever damn forum they go on when ever I get used to this new board!

Sheeeeeeeeee's baaaaaaack! http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Love the new board, Sal. It will take a while for me to get used to it, but I love it none the less!

Raine!!!!!! great to see ya! Welcome back!

Okay! Well, how's "New Wave / New Romantic" for a title? Is that any good? Are there any takers for the moderator position? It's a real simple thing to do!

And... Shall I add a Punk Rock forum while I'm at it? I already do have a Top 40, so - we're okay in that area... What do yas think? http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smile.gif http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smile.gif

P.S. I do a good Raine Dance! http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smile.gif Don't I?

New Wave/New Romantic sounds good to me! And if the job is simple, I would like to moderate it and maybe the Punk forum as well. Being the Punk Ass that I am.

The thing I miss about this board is my little Punk God, Jay Gordon Pic that I have as a personal pic on the EZBoard. **sigh**

Oh well, I am sure I am the only one missing THAT! LOL!

Raine! You Punk Ass! http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smile.gif You can still put the picture in your signature.. Just look at Notman, Blaziegirl, Tydestra...

Okay! I will add an 802 Punk Rock and 80s New Wave / New Romantic section when I get home this afternoon... You will be moderator of both. It's really easy - just stuff like moving messages that don't have anything to do with the topic to the right area. Maybe editing someones post if they post a bad link. There are NO requirements really. Just if you catch anything and you have the time.. Starting up conversations in your topic would be cool too, but I don't think you'll have a problem with that. http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smile.gif
