Does anybody find that putting stuff on McDonald's fries completely ruins the taste?

In my opinion, McDonald's french fries are the best as is...no ketchup, vinegar, or anything like that.

Just a few days ago, my niece didn't finish the fries in her Happy Meal, because she didn't want them, so I ended up finishing them...only to find that she had sprinkled vinegar on them. Now, don't get me wrong...I ate them anyway, but it killed the natural flavour of them.

Anyone else agree while I'm still making any sense here?

I always drench my fries in Mayo so I really couldn't say.

I don't eat fries anymore, so I can't help you with that. Wouldn't pay to work out like I do and then eat crap. ;)

I'm with Pagan on that! I barely ever eat fast "fat" food anymore. It would defeat the purpose of working out. :)

I have not eaten McDonalds in years.. but i used to dip them in ice cream and hot fudge sundae (sp?) when i was a kid.

Didn't they change the fries a couple years or was that BK?

I have also not been to McDonalds in quite some time. With working out, I have changed my eating habits a bit.

ANybody who would eat ANYTHING drenched in VINEGAR doesnt deserve to have it taste good. Cant understand people eating anything that smells THAT BAD.

I've never heard of vinegar on fries..(I use a little on my spinach)..but with my fries ..I like to:
DIP THEM IN CHEESE
DIP THEM IN WHITE GRAVY
COVER THEM WITH CHILI
DIP THEM IN CATSUP

When younger..I use to love to dip them in McD's choc. shakes!

:lol: I don't eat too many fries anymore either, but I've always said the same thing, JJ.. why would anyone want ketchup on McDonald's fries?? I always eat them just how they are.. :biglick: I have to have ketchup on anyone else's fries though..

BK changed their fries a few years ago, and now they are my favorite by far. Either way, straight, or with ketchup if I have it. The chili sounds like a good idea too! :D

Whenever I do eat Micky D's fries (which is very seldom), I eat them just the way they are, but that's all I'll eat at Mc Donald's. Can't stand the rest of their food. :yucky:

Out of all the national food chains, McDonald's probably does have the best fries. I usually eat my fries with nothing on them anyway. I just hope McDonald's never decides to change the way they cook their fries (like some other restaurants have) and change the taste.

The fries have such a distinct flavour to them because they are dipped in that grease/beef tallow crap (hehehe, the same grease is then used to manufacture make-up!). I barely work out nowadays, but I do keep away from unhealthy, fattening foods as well. Dang! I have to work out this summer...

I think vinegar on fries sucks, it seems to be eaten at hockey rinks alot.

I was in Montreal 2 summers ago, and everyone was using helmans mayonaise on their fries and it's good.. you usually have to ask for ketchup as it's not that popular


The best type of fries I have had

Poutine- fries covered in melted mozerella cheese, then once again covered in Gravy ( I think it's a Canadian invention, ) nothing else will clog up the arteries like this

fries covered in dressing/stuffing and once again gravy over top. Newfoundland dish

I haven't had McD's since my Junior year of high school :p I always ate fries straight though...no condements necessary. The only nasty fries I've ever had that I can remember were from Burger King in '99...those were the most horrible things...I couldn't even eat one. One bite and I was nauseated :p

I don't eat much fast food anymore BUT give me some well done McDonalds fries straight out of the hot frier and there's not stopping me!!! :D :biglick: I love them plain..no ketchup or anything.

I am not into McD's. Not sure what the burgers are made of. :p When I did , i would eat them plain. :)

Now if I have fries, I put A-1 sauce on them.

I'm glad someone made that comment! I quite agree.

In fact I can't understand why anyone would want to drench a good fry in anything! Fries taste best with salt (or seasoning) and nothing else, otherwise I don't see it as a fry, it becomes an entirely different entity. It's like taking a slab of chocolate and covering it in mustard so that it doesn't taste as sweet.

However when it comes to fries, I prefer the traditional English "hot chips" They are thicker and taste so much better. But if it comes to fast foods, give me KFC fries any day! I love the seasoning they put on them.

I don't eat much fast food anymore, but I used to love McD's fries. Plain with nothing on them. However, I have been known to eat fries with vinegar many times. It's actually quite popular around here. When I was living in Denver - I noticed alot of people eat their fries with a mixture of mayo & ketchup. Which to me is nasty! :yucky: Cause I can't stand mayo

I try to avoid fast food, but on the occasions that I give in to temptation, I would have to say that McDonald's fries taste best without any 'extras'. Just fresh from the fryer and salty. ;)

I LIVE on fast food :lol: I usually like to drown everything in ketchup but for some reason I like McDonald's fries plain.

So true!!! :D I eat ketchup with most other fries.. but MD fries are perfect just the way they are.... although.. i usually don't order fries anymore.. period.. i hardly even eat them at home.. and that's only if they're baked.... grease.. :yucky:

Don't eat much fast food anymore! Had stopped eating McD's about 8 years ago EXCEPT for their fries and had stopped eating BK EXCEPT for their fries about 4 years ago! Now that some Vegen wussies complained about McD's fries being cooked in animal fat and they changed them,they taste like the rest of their food..CRAP! BK's fries hit the skids a couple years ago when they switched to some kind of cheap corn oil that makes their fries taste like corn fritters! Yuck!
As I said I stopped eating their burgers and stuff! Got tired of the stomach torquing "Bacterial Implosions" I would get 10 minutes after eating where your option was to pull over as quick as frickin' possible or end up with "trouser chili"! :( :lol:

Plain... nothin' on 'em, but lot's of salt! I try to stay away from the fries... :tsk:
